Wonder if there is a pattern to all those guys Arteta has humiliated, there's Pepe, this guy, Nuno being shouted at on the documentary and so on. The latter two were even bought under his watch.

Lol 'humiliated' another who didn't read the article 😁
Well if you are getting paid good money & can't follow basic instructions it's perhaps understandable you may get a little earache from the boss.
It's likely the same in any football club or even many jobs agenda boy👍

Reports in Italy that Mourinho is interested in Sambi as cover for Wijnaldum who is injured

Interesting, this kind of rumour hints that he is available for loan. Which would make sense as he needs a lot of game-time.

Seems Wijnaldum has some fracture to tibia so he will be out for some time to recover, not sure how much.

If Sambi, Bellerib, AMN are all out I guess we'll bring a player in.

Yeah and Pepe.. so will it be a winger and a midfielder, or just one..

Or will Arteta again get just rid of players like in January and get no more additions.

I think if last Jan taught Teta, Edu & co. something is how important signings are to maintain/shift the momentum.

You can promote Marquinhos to the first team to play RW instead of Saka e.g. but we need at least one more body in midfield.

I'm seeing Roma linked with him i don't take it seriously because they have few options ahead of him but something we should keep eye on late of window if Roma failed to sign midfielder. We'll definitely not let him go on loan without being sure signing midfielder.

Wolves lining up another midfield signing with the rumours about Lokonga going out on loan. Imagine if we end up with Neves - Partey, Xhaka, Ødegaard, Vieira, Zinchenko, Neves, Elneny, would likely be the best midfield depth in the league.

However, I know there's not a chance we get Neves. :(

Neves is expensive we can afford him but don't think we spending so much. If Lokonga leave meaning Tielemans is definitely joining us

Arteta will keep him and play him in the number 8 role to cover granit where further up the field he’s less of liability and Mo will cover Partey…we have plenty of cover in midfield whether we agree with the quality of it is another thing

Lad ain't even trusted to play as a #6 against Fulham at home. I bet you if Xhaka is out he won't be the one to replace him either.

We're wasting out time here. Lokonga ain't ready. Needs a loan or if the Arteta and co. think he ain't all that then he might as well go on a permanent.

We're in desperate need for another regista.

Yep, he’s 23 soon, he’s never going to be ready.

Sometimes you take a gamble on a player and it doesn’t work, this is one of those. He wasn’t fancied in the second half of last season and nothing has changed. Arteta doesn’t rate him.

Yup. He was given plenty of chances in the early/middle of last year and simply wasn't good enough on either side of the ball.

Move on and get someone better. If you can't be trusted to start over Elneny, you're done here.

Most of last summer's signings turned out well (even Tavares we will probably turn a profit on) but this one was a dud.

We don't have enough numbers in the middle. And the quality...well the starters are flawed and can have 2/10 games at any time. They also cannot be trusted to stay fit and to not get sent off at any time. The back-ups are .,.Elneny, who is just a pointless player, and a guy who somehow managed to be worse then ****ing Elneny. So yeah, yhe middle of the pitch is by far our biggest weakness that for some reason Edu and Arteta have no intention of addressing. No doubt it will **** our season up

Can't believe so many are already writing Sambi off.
Mixed bag but did ok at times last season but it was a monumental ask to expect a 22 year old from the Belgium league to step up to the prem in the 'Partey' role.
He will get minutes in the Europa & cup competitions & hopefully can kick on this season.

Yeah can't think of many CM's that peaked at 23, the club don't even know where his best position is. It will take hundreds of games to get to the desired level which he was never going to get at Arsenal, might as well send him to Marseille or something.

Where he's at now he only works in a double pivot and they don't do that here.

No need to write him off, but the problem comes when the backups for Partey are both about the same level and not nearly same quality.

Sambi has the potential to be, but Elneny is likely trusted over him for most games for his known solid performances.

I think Sambi would need more game-time to develop well.
