Fabio Vieira: The Portuguese Project

Although his G/A numbers will be very high as he has a good shot and final ball, I hope he'll start to get more involved during matches. He only made 16 passes last night which is unacceptably low for an Arsenal attacking midfielder. I hope that it's just him getting used to his teammates and not his style of play.

I thought he was better when Ødegaard came on who raised our level with the ball.

I'd like to see both him and Ødegaard on together and try a different style vs some of the smaller teams at home.

He's started better than I could have possibly expected, and I think with both him and Ode we dominate the ball and unlock stubborn low blocks, which are admittedly less common. Also our wide players are being asked a lot of physically this season, so it'd alleviate that a bit.

Really happy with his goals and assist contribution in such limited time.

I understand the posts saying Vitinha would be preferable but for where we were at the time this looks a great capture for a team playing in the europa league.

Having players who aren't first choice players that are of the quality of Tierney, Vieira, Holdini ESR and Tomiyasu just shows how much depth in quality we have and how much we have vastly inproved.

Does anyone have a better back up LB, ACM, CB and RB in league? I don't thinks so.

He’s a final ball machine, nice contrast to Ødegaard who’s more of a link player. I don’t think we can fit both in the same team any time soon though, we rely on Xhaka too much defensively.

Agree, he was good when he was on the ball but for me wasn’t involved enough. Think it’s probably more a fitness thing and him adapting to a new team more than anything else.

What you get with Ødegaard in most games is a guy that always gets on the ball in the final third, which gives us a lot of control.

It's the same nonsense that we should have got Mbappe, Haaland, Tchouameni etc. Alternative universe stuff.

Where are all the people slagging him off without even seeing him play? Told you throughout the preseason that the lad's a baller.

I can never fully support him until he gets rid of that goatee like 70s pornstar
It's not the goatee, it's the moustache.
