The main worry coming out of the international break is Ødegaard. He exhausted himself playing for Norway and results went against him, so he can’t be in the best mental state.
I wouldn't worry. The game against Georgia was played at a pedestrian pace really. He'll be fine.

Question - does anyone know if Xhaka fasts during the holy month of Ramadan?
Not sure. He has not done it readily for sporting reasons before so every chance he's opting out in the title push.

In any case you don't usually notice it with him too much regardless.

In the early 80s, average attendance was down to 22.000. That's how bad we were. 1980s that is.

In 1979 we were victorious in one of the most exciting FA cup finals of all time and by 1989 we had built a side capable of challenging Liverpools all conquering juggernaut, I’m guessing it wasn’t all bad.

Early 80s is the time period when Brady left, maybe people voted with their feet?

The rise of the 89 team was as rapid under Graham as the rise of the 23 team - trust me, we were awful for 7 years or so. Suggest you read Fever Pitch! We entered a real slump after the double blow of the loss to West Ham/Valencia and the departure of Brady. Players were also ****ing knackered at the end of that season as the same 11 played a vast number of games. 88 and (obviously) 89 were great fun.

No need to read it mate I lived it  (read the book and watched the film when they came out course)

Agreed it was a period of dismal football, that's the game, ups and down, every title might be your last for decades. It was still mostly top-10 finishes though and many other clubs would kill to be in that position. Charlie Nicholas, the legend of Gus Cesar, the Paul Davis sucker punch .... a glorious decade!!
