Great to see Ozakyup doing well, was fantastic particularly in the 1st leg. When you look at the people who haven't made it, Yennaris, JET etc are all in the championship/league one while this guy is not looking out of place v Arsenal.

Damn, I remember a lot of people on here being high on JET. Lot of call for him to replace Bendtner etc. back in 2009-ish

That's what happens when you overhype and overrrate an average talent with even poorer mentality.

There are many players who get by with average talent in the premier league, but these guys have an excellent work ethic, desire, dedication and most of all self discipline, and sadly for JET he had none of those which explains why he's in Ligue 1 today with Bristol City.

Tbf he was one of our brightest youngsters in recent years, he had it all at youth level.
He dominated largely because he became physically mature from a young age and could dominate his teenage peers. Once he started playing with adults, who were physically his equal, he found it a lot more difficult.

They might as well be, they can't handle England. Maybe they and Bristol Rovers can slither over the border and join the Welsh league.

Really impressed by Ozyukup. Maybe he lacks a bit of pace but some of his passing and movement was great against us, he did better than Özil for me.

Maybe a player Arsène keeps his eye on in the future, looked like an Arsenal player.

Yeah he's very talented, tbf it looks as if he left us at the perfect time, he's a key player for club and country now.

I always thought Fran Merida would've made it here out of the two though, funny how things work out.

Yeah Ozyakup always looked like a Gooner to me, but then again I thought Bunjaku was destined to make it here and he's now playing for Derby.

When asked by Spanish newspaper El Pais about the prospect of playing for one of Arsenal’s rivals, Fabregas said: "Don't think I didn't think about it.

“I will keep the Gunner feeling forever and I know that I will return to Highbury (Emirates Stadium) and it will be a special moment, but I am a committed guy.

"So I know that when I play against Arsenal I will know who is my (current) team, who are my colleagues and who I defend. And I know that the Arsenal fans will understand me, I have no doubt."
Cesc Fabregas
"I remind you that I played the Champions League final against Barcelona (with Arsenal) and I swear I would have done anything to win that game - and I have been a Barcelona fan since I was a kid.

"So I know that when I play against Arsenal I will know who is my (current) team, who are my colleagues and who I defend. And I know that the Arsenal fans will understand me, I have no doubt."

He's a mercenary who just happens to have a very publicized favorite club. That's all, nothing horribly wrong with that.

He's loyal to the ones paying him to win matches. Such is football.

I find you especially can't blame him given the fact that Arsène didn't want him back anyway. What was he to do? Retire until we needed him again?

Geez How is Henry not at Arsenal.

I feel like almost every week he scores a beauty in the MLS. He can really do a job here for us, and I hope he retires here where he belongs.

Not true at all. Being a mercenary means money is paramount, when in fact he took a pay cut to join Barcelona.

That claim is false.

I wonder if Cesc is expecting a big parade and massive grand entrance for his return, when in reality he's met by a chorus of boos and jeers, which he probably won't be able to handle.

If anything I think we should go out of our way to make him feel uncomfortable, this goes for our players too, give him the odd kick we know how he reacts to that. When he comes to the Emirates he'll be the enemy and we should do everything in our power to make it as hostile and uncomfortable for him as possible.

It's an interesting point, but it comes across a little bitter for me, Thierry getting booed when he came to the Emirates with Barcelona was a prime example.

I was there when we beat Chelsea in 07/08 and Ashley Cole was out on our side 2nd half and he was copping a load of stick. Think that was the worst I've heard for a former player and it put me right off when it comes to giving out abuse at games.
