It's all fun and games until Ornstein's 11am tweet "no further incomings expected at #AFC".
Man C have spent almost as much as our whole squad is worth in one window.
It's pretty embarrassing from Liverpool and Arsenal really.
But forget about Merseyside red and let's concentrate on us. The club can't come out with all the BS they've spouted and then have a net spend of 0, surely?!
Oh and Akpom to Leeds is on apparently. Another one.
This is what I've been saying.
In the past, some fans on here and other places have mentioned that during the stadium move as a football club, we were financially contstrained. Therefore, we had to keep our net spend low.
A lot of the fans understood and accepted the years of transition.
However, we're currently in a period whereby as a club, we are financially stable. With the extra income from the TV rights deal, we shouldn't be looking to penny pinch.
We have three choices:
1. We should either be looking at competing with the best teams and spending top dollar for new recruits.
This probably wouldn't be viable as we aren't run like City or PSG.
2. Another alternative is to sign serious talent before they become well established like when Dembele was at Rennes, Tielemans etc.
The above would be perfect for us. We could be doing what Monaco/Dortmund are doing without the selling.
3. We should be looking at improving our youth facilities like Bayern are doing and attracting the best talent in the South region of England.
If Campbell is injured he doesn't need to be in the squad. Also if he is not in the Premier League squad he can still play in the cups so don't know why there is this issue that we need to sell him, ideally yes but if he is injured we don't need to register him.
Then he should have played Ox in Ramsey's role. Even that would have made more sense than the utter shambles he pulled. Wenger manages like he's playing FUT with a bunch of silver players. It's disgusting.Wenger was clearly shoehorning both Oxlade and Bellerin into the side because he hasn't got the gumption to drop one.
We should be basing our model off Bayern. Bringing in the odd big signing to compliment an already fantastic squad.
Eugh it's just so annoying, I don't get it. I really don't.
Will just skyrocket transfer prices for youth and they'll also start getting paid relatively massive wages. I can only see socialist policies reigning this in, not quick-fix schemes by clubs that are supposed to pay off far into the future.Bayern are looking to change their model due to massive fees going around in this market.

Was thinking the same.IF Fabinho actually goes to PSG, they must sell one of Krychowiak/Rabiot. Any of those 3 would be nice here

I like the way you lads think. That's how a shrewd club operates. And it's precisely why we won't be doing that. Was thinking the same.
If they're needing to raise funds to comply with FFP so they can sign Mbappe and Fabinho then I'd happily see us helping them out by signing Rabiot and Marquinhos from them.
Not sure why so many people want to sell Chambers. I honestly think we should give him a chance at CB here. With his height he is a natural heir to the Mertesacker throne.
I'm yet to be convinced that Bellerin is a viable option at RWB as well
