Nah we’re good. Let’s not forget Usmanov owns 30% of the club. I doubt Putin is going to **** all the investment of someone who makes large donations towards him.

If I was a fan I wouldn’t go though. Almost certain to get your head kicked in and the police will turn a blind eye.
I find it hard to put anything past them these days. Have they ever admitted to anything, ever?

It's sickening to have to say, but I genuinely fear for everyone who represents Arsenal when they travel to Russia, unless any of the board are planning to go (yeah, right). The fans are obviously very exposed to violence, but anything connected to the team is also a legit worry imo, from the eating arrangements to the safety of the flight (pilots etc) itself. I'd want the plane to be escorted by two RAF Tornados, and I wouldn't want the plane on the return flight to be on their runway for more than 20 minutes. Preferably, one could come and pick them up with enough fuel on board to not have to refuel in Russia. **** knows what they could put in the tank.

I'm clinging onto the fact that being sportsmen protects them, in that Russia knows the rest of the world wouldn't accept any ****ery, and they would 100% be held accountable if the plane was blown out of the sky or any of the players suddenly lost 100LB in weight and all their hair on the flight home.
Add to that. Their players have to eat half the food that is served to our players.

I think Russia will be under the spotlight right before the world cup for a fairly big fixture and therefore they'll make sure this goes smoothly. Expect heavy policing and zero tolerance

recent events would suggest we are in more danger when the Russians are in Britain than when we are in Moscow
Agree with this in sentiment but see above post. Both events will be a chance to flex political, policing and executive power

I think Putin will be on his best behavior as we draw closer to the World Cup. There would be no need for him to risk doing something nefarious involving a football team. It's not like they're spies or diplomats. Besides, I think Putin likes Arsenal because he got them to double the fee for Arshavin before he'd approve the sale.

guys, calm down, russia is not some favella neighborhood

despite aggressive politicians and a few bellends, they are actually normal people who just like to drink vodka. which nation doesn't have organized crime, secret services involved in covert operations and common everyday thugs?

just like us, they are people that go to work 9 to 5, have families, like to go out for dinner on weekends, and probably watch EPL/la liga derbies with more interest than a Lokomotiv-Spartak duel.

On other teams forums, they have rivals trolling them. On AM, we get trolls from Juventus, Olympiakos and CSKA ****ing Moscow.

Don't fret - we're only joshing - at least I am anyway

It's not easy to get laughs out of nerve gas, especially if you're on the receiving end, but we have to try

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA some of the crap ive read on here is hilarious! The game is in Moscow. Moscow is a big, modern, cosmopolitan city. I've been there before and I can tell you there are some far more depressing and dodgy places in England.

I don't think anyone is disputing this, but the fact of the matter is the dispute with Russia is the #1 news story in the UK every day now. I'm sure it will all die away eventually but right now this is incredibly high profile.

It's the #1 news story because it is in the interest of some very powerful people. Russia are even being accused of playing a role in the Brexit referendum! Ha!

Good on Robbie of AFTV for not being fooled by the propaganda and looking forward to the trip.
