Why did Linekar and Shearer try to make him chat **** about Arsenal and Wenger?

This just confirms the medias agenda against the club.

Didn’t watch it but there’s no agenda against Arsenal.

We’re a huge club, Wenger is a huge story, and it’s very rare to have current top professionals in the studio.

Back at his best since the horror show at Brighton.

Good for him, but I think we need to sign his understudy ASAP

I think he has generally been hung out to dry by our defenders.

He is trying to adjust to an extremely error-prone defense by trying to act as a sweeper-keeper, and he regularly gets found out.

Cech always excelled at playing a sweeper role before joining us. It's much deeper than that. Our midfield is porous and this compounds the problem we have in defense.
But we can't stop there... Petr has clearly lost something in his last couple of years.
Overall this was a very average purchase for what WAS a very above average keeper for years. Shame but that's how it is

Playing the sweeper role was never his strength, even at his best at Chelsea. He didn`t really have to, Chelsea never really played With a high line. Villas Boas tried it and both Cech and the rest of the defence struggled badly.

Starting to think he'd solely be a backup at a significant amount of teams in this league.

He was great as a sweeper keeper at Rennes though. I remember this because Rennes bought Andreas Isaksson to replace and emulate Chechs style. Didn't work out very well since Isaksson has always had bricks where his feet were supposed to be.

They all play the ball is lava

Think you hit the nail on the head. If you consider the last calamity involving a certain defender, Cech could not decide whether to cover his near post, or block the cross, because he doesn't get a shout.

Also with deep crosses, Cech never seems to know what his defenders want him to do. He hesitates and then rushes out when he sees everyone looking at how beautiful the ball is.

We live in a world where every goal conceded at the near post is the keepers fault... Or just Cech's anway. Doesn't matter the velocity of the shot or direction, it must have been the keepers fault... or just Cech's.
