Petition against Canal+ Sweden

I've just heard that Canal+, the holder of PL broadcasting rights in Sweden, will not be broadcasting the all-important game against Man Utd on march 28, in case of a seventh and desicive final game in the Swedish ice hockey championship. This despite the fact that Canal+ broadcast through at least trhee different channels (Calal+, Canal+gul and Canal+Zap).

This can only bee seen as an insult to all football fans in Sweden. If you got a few seconds to spare, please sign this petition demanding that Canal+ broadcasts what will probably be the most important PL match this season.

Hope they will seriously consider it and show it on tv. It will be a shame if u miss out because of some hockey game.

After three days of quite intense protests Canal+ have now changed their mind and bought the rights to the Arsenal-Manure game. Apparently the game was not included in the channel's original deal with Premier Leauge. They thought that the eventual hockey games (semi-finals, not finals, my mistake) would draw too much attention away from the football.

This overestimation of the interest in ice hockey is all too common. Football has always been - and will hopefully always be - the absolutely biggest sport over here.

Good to see a tv network beeing really obedient to the audience's opinion.
