I don't know I'm just bitter af at our direction and IMO lack of ambition. The club appears to be aiming to get back into the top 4 judging by our window. What the **** is top 4 going to get us? An extra 20-30m in revenue whoopdy doo. If we can't push the boat out for our new manager in his first window what difference is CL footy going to make? We were in the CL for all of Kroenkes tenure here and it made zero difference we've just paid lip service to the idea of challenging for the title and our transfer window this summer confirms it.

The Kroenke news is probably the worst news in the history of the club. He will privatize us obviously and use us as a wholly owned money making venture. No accountability.

The Premier League, financially, is exploding to the extent that he can afford to sit on Arsenal without investing much and still turn over a huge profit on his original investment. We will become a mid table club under Kroenke. This is not doom mongering.. it's an absolute certainty when you consider the ambitions of the clubs around us, as well as potential new investors in other teams - not least of which Usmanov.

It's disheartening. Even more so when you consider the lack of resistance to the takeover from our fanbase. He really did choose the right golden goose.

It’s difficult to know what to think of us right now. We’re obviously way off and Emery needs a lot of time, it’d just be so much easier to sit back and accept if we knew where the club wanted to be.

Top four would be quite an exceptional season, but what happens after that? Does the club actually want success or are they just biding time with Emery.

Gary Neville probably had it right when he pointed out how long it could take to overhaul this squad.

I pity those who go into this season with high expectations. We will most likely remain a work in progress throughout this season...

Leno
Bellerin - Mustafi - Sokratis - Lichtsteiner
Ramsey - Torreira
Mkhitaryan - Özil - Aubameyang
Lacazette

I'd like to see this team face Chelsea.

Yes, it's too early for overall judgements but come the end of May and we don't finish in the top 4, the season would without a doubt be a huge failure.

People expected Pep to win on his first year. He scraped to the top 4 on the final day iirc, it wasn't as smooth as people believe.

Their performances were good. They started the season really well as I remember it. It's hard to look at third as failure, even if it's City.

Actually no mate , squads good enough for the top 4 as is , if we don't get back in at latest in two years , we may not get back for a very long time . We are now competing against 6-7 teams now with the capability of outspending us . Players like Auba weren't and Mkhi weren't bought for an overhaul but for immediate effect .

We have some top quality players in our team. Wenger underachieved in his last few years. He overachieved in the mid to late 2000's getting us top 4 with dross but now we have some talented players. We had talented players that were forced to leave because of our team's underachievement too. It's up to Emery to get the best out of these players.

we looked frail as we always did before under Wenger, I saw the same old frail problems. Some other differences in play but mostly the same

Really sad to see how we have been drained of hope, when everyone saying we are gonna lose this game because its Man City at home so its expected, when teams much lower than us drew and beat Man City at home last season. Teams like Burnley and Palace were having most of the chances against them. We should not put up with it. We should aim to win, and if its a draw then it is what it is. shame. shows what a losers mentality we have , we lost before its begun

Wenger basically under achieved in one and half. Even then some of our home performances will show you what we are capable on top of that we have strenghtened midfield as well . No bloody way should we be looking at less than top 4.

Main problem is that the "dross" in the banter era are vastly better than many of our current players...... Xhaka can only dream of being half as good as 2008–2012 Song. The foundation which Wenger built in the past 2 seasons is rotten, he got rid of underperforming players and replaced them with worse players. We need to buy 9 more Torreiras and Guendouzis to be in the position to compete with the best of the league.
