you are not being realistic in that case. we all clearly know why Özil stayed and why others left.
He knows it too. It's just that, at this stage of proceedings, his former fanboys--that's all they are now--are also done with him, but just want to go down kicking, screaming and trolling. If you can't talk about his performances and you're balls deep in the player, what else is there to do?

He was excellent yesterday, leading Emery to a EL final.

He had a decent 45. He was always going to do ok against a foreign team at the Emirates. Will he even get a game in the return leg? You wouldn't bet on it, would you? More than that, you wouldn't care. Nobody would, and that's what's most telling about the situation. Yet you've got 'fans' ok with that. Just as well Emery wont be in the summer.

Özil is still a luxury player. Until he consistently performs in offensive and defensive turn outs that's all he will be. He done well against Valencia and won a vital turn over only for Lacazette to hit the keepers legs.

Id rather us move on. 442 and counter teams. Too many teams are moving to possession based football now and we need to be ahead of the curve. Solid defence quick lethal countering is the way to go.

Ahead of the curve?!
Did you see how Barcelona, Man City dominate world football?
Just look at teams in the relegation zone, most of them play counter.
Now you see which way is better to go for.

And unless you are local, why would foreign fans like arsenal if they won less trophies than other teams. Their beautiful attractive football!!
That is what make us so proud of, that’s how people differentiate us from the boring teams.
You don’t want to waste two hours of you weekend watching boring stuff.

Barcelona and Man City dominate world football. Alright then. Sure they do

What planet you on cause its not this one.

Barcelona last won it the CL in 14/15 since then theyve not got past the quarter final. Real Madrid have won all in that time facing A Madrid, Juventus and liverpool. All teams based on the counter.

Man City have been awful in Europe and Peps possession keeps letting him down. Teams at the bottom end are not comparable to our own. So yes, while teams continue to shift to possession for some reason we should move to counter.

Maybe you are from a parallel universe that Man City was not untouchable for the previous season in one of the toughest league in the world. Or Barcelona didn’t win all the trophies with ease dominating every teams they played in the last 10 years.

Klopp’s liverpool play agressive pressing and their defensive line is very high. They are not the sits deep and counter type. And they have very technical players like firmino and salah. Atletico Madrid have very talented skillful players too. Their counter is good to watch with good passing combinations and individual skills.

The walcott, wright phillips, auba, vardy type of players will not work if you play more than one of them in a team, at least in modern football. Basically you are one man down when building up and you play boring football.

You are literally asking me to hate arsenal and start to like mourinho and pulis. To waste 2 hours of my weekend to watch football flying around and forget all the creative passing, combination and individual skills.

10 years ago isnt now. And they aren't dominating ****. Madrid run the show in Europe for three seasons. The EPL isnt the world either. Its one league. And even then Leicester recently won it on the counter and Liverpool are neck and neck with Man City playing on the counter and have reached the cL final and semi final two years in a row now. Man City for all their spending havent done ****. And wont do ****.

France won the world cup, you know actually dominated the world and they only had 35% possession in the world cup final. They didnt even feature in the top 5 for possession in that tournament. Guess who did. Spain, Germany and Brazil how did they do? Not so well. Argentina and Saudi Arabia made up the top 5 for possession. None of them made the final. Or even the semis.

A lot of teams are trying to play the way Barcelona did. But football is changing. The teams that are winning or are at the top end in Europe are generally not playing that way anymore. The bottom and middle havent picked this up yet as they are still in awe of what Barcelona achieved and are trying to change to it. Instead of realising its had its day.

Of course there are exceptions. Barcelona still have Messi and Ajax are a one off. And if youve unlimited funds you should do well in a league. But the reality is the world is moving and id rather us move than notice two or three years from now when a new cycle starts and we are left behind.

I must say I'm very glad that Özil is adapting to Emery's demands, he clearly knew he was fighting a losing battle so had decided to work hard to prove himself to the manager. It's great to see, Emery must be so happy.

@Jury would u rather Iwobi/Myhkitaryan?
It’s a tough one, because if you keep Iwobi you’re gambling on him becoming at least as useful as Miki, and pretty soon. If he didn’t become useful, you’d be throwing away a player who has proven he can impact games and make a difference now in favour of the proverbial ice cream dildo who has some potential to be useful somewhere on a football pitch one day.

The percentage decision would be to keep Miki, but I’d rather use them as crash test dummies at this point.

if emery had not eaten crow in front of Özil and Ramsey, he would be gone by now.
I was going write a few paragraphs dismantling this ridiculous theory, but what’s the point? Nothing you post is ever consistent with reality, with barbs added on for good measure.
