This guy has been a real servant to the club, and we wouldn't get much if we sold him anyway. Just hold a testimonial for him and let him go

Would be significant savings on wages right? Including the expiring contracts, the deal they canceled from Ramsey and the savings from Kosc, that has to be over 500k/wk saved so far? Too lazy to look it up.

Sell
Chambers £20m
Mustafi £15m
Iwobi £15m
Elneny £5m
Mhki £10m
Kola or Monreal £10m
Laca £60m

Total £135m + budget £40m = £175m

Buy
Martinelli £5m
Tierney £25m
Saliba £30m (loan him back)
Zaha £60m

Total £120m

Leaves us £55m to buy a Ramsey replacement and a Sokratis type decent but 30 yrs old CB until Saliba joins next summer.

Wages for the first year covered by wages saved on outgoing players.

I am thinking much the same, but overall it leaves the squad very think at cf and the wings.

If Lacazette or Auba leave a replacement is desperatly needed. Nketiah isnt ready to give this team 10 to 15 goals.

Martinelli might be a big talent, but he comes from a Brazilian regional league. Think any big first team contribution expectations are way over the line.

Selling Iwobi and Mkhi while bringing in only Zaha leaves the squad with only one proven winger. Try Nelson, but don't expect him to be a regular contributing starter.

If at all I think one costly CB addition is in the realm of the budget. And that guy should go or aim right for a starting spot, not get loaned out.

Laughable thought in itself tbh. No other club terminates contracts like that. You either get sold or you stay til it runs out.

But no one really does transfers like we do. We must be world leaders in how incompetent we are when selling our players. So only fair we find new ways to get even less.

Charity fc. I mean we give points for free left and right to whoever needs them, it's only natural we give out players as well.

To right the main reluctance is for us to release him so he can get a massive sign on fee. He signed the contract either buy yourself out or get someone to buy you. Shocking from the club captain. Just another example of the elite mentality Emery inherited.

If they can’t pay a couple of million they can find somebody else.

What if we could replace him with Cahill on a similar deal?

Bit younger, a defensive organiser, good height & maybe his body has recovered after the light work load last season.

You never know if these rumours are true but:

If they are, Koscielny is asking us to take a loss so he doesn't have to by wages/signing on bonus

That's the truth of it financially.

I’m sick of signing rivals cast offs. This club is a retirement home for people who want easy money.
