Meh, this is a none story for me. He's been equally great and dreadful for us at times. He's past his best, everyone wants him out, he wants to go, thanks for the memories.

We were never going to get much for him anyway, if this makes it easier to get rid of him then so be it.

Except Koscielny is following the same Cesc route. His behavior is created by Wenger's "values", one where we are weak willed and let our players push us around. This is what that lead to the decline of the club, why we are struggling to get good money from selling our players. Not being able to stamp out this kind of behavior is precisely one of the reasons why Wenger had to be kicked out of the club.

Stop lying for Kroenke please. Wenger was also manager when Dein was around and we had a much more bold, ambitious and ruthless transfer and contract negotiation policy. Its Kroenke-Gazidis who introduced the sell for cheap buy on the cheap gutless no ambition transfer policy. Stop shovelling all of Kroenke-Gazidis' **** onto Wenger. We are seeing this ***** ass policy continue even with Wenger gone.

Absolutely disgraceful some of the post people have made on here and other platforms. You've got guys bringing up Per and comparing him to Kos when Kos is now the same age as what Per was when he retired last season and essentially Kos wants to move back to France and retire there. He can't keep up with the Premier league anymore but he is still capable of playing for mid tier ligue 1 club and not have the pressure and expectations that come with playing at a club like Arsenal. How hard is that too understand, he ins't forcing a move so play for a rival or a big club in another league so why the drama? Which given his service and loyalty over the past 9 years our club should be operating in much better faith and wish him all the best.

Agree with that...some of the comments here are simply beyond the pale.

The only similarities the two have is they both want/wanted to leave and were club captains at the time. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

It is quite obvious Koscielny is not a bright guy or a gentleman either, didn't he rant about how unhappy he was not to receive a WC ring and how he wish France never won the WC?
He always served us well until Kroenke's lack of ambition drove him to quit the club.

Well, this ain’t good. Btw it’s easy to say he’s been a great servant and he should get his wish, and I agree with the sentiment, but he has a contract. If those 3 clubs want him they can make an offer. That’s how it works, can anyone cite a precedent for mutual termination in this context? I can’t.

Anyway, this summer is going very badly and bad summers usually carry on into the season. We need some good news sharpish.

Our club hadn’t declined until the fans started making Wenger’s job impossible post 2016.

If he wants out he can pay up. We've paid this guy millions of pounds and we're supposed to terminate his contract as soon as he wants to go somewhere else?

We are expected to honor the contract of our over-paid, under-performing bums - the players should do the same. Works both ways. He signed the deal and have to honor it now.

It normally happens when a player is found to be in breach of his contract, generally through either refusing to play, failing a drug test or bringing the club into disrepute.

Something like he was jealous they won, or didn’t want them to win.

Despicable fella.

Spitting out the dummy is no way go to about this. This behavior wouldn't be tolerated in any other football club or profession for that matter especially for someone under contract. Smirks of entitlement.

Respect goes out the window when you do **** like that. There have been many loyal players much better than him at Arsenal and other clubs who had to either be sold for a small fee or leave on a free at the end of their contracts. He probably wants a better salary since he'll be leaving on a free.

Even more annoyingly, it's weakening our hand in signing a new centre back. If he was so loyal he'd be more invested in contributing more to our transfer budget for a replacement.
This should be the new policy at the club. All people who have been behind the scenes like Ornstein have described players having it too easy and being too comfortable. It's what breeds this petulant entitlement.

Why do people think they know players personalities? It don’t matter if he’s mild mannered or not it’s what your agent is there for. People are tryna blame the backroom staff for a situation we’ve been in 100 times.

Just because he cries and lets other players bully him and in general is a bit of a coward doesn’t mean he’s not capable of this.
I like to think I know all the players personalities. Don’t spoil it for me bro.
