Celtic have a price, there's no budge in it, all the negotiation is a waste of time, usually we would have to play that come and go game, but KT would never stir up and problems and has 4 years remaining on his contract, add to that would actually like to keep him.

It's a rare situation where we have all the leverage, I still think there's a good chance he'll remain at Celtic coz I think there's a stubborn streak in Arsenal and I don't think they'll make acceptable offer.

Ntcham is almost certainly going to be sold so our outlay will be covered by that move, it's a nice position to be in for the Celtic board.
Arsenal wouldn’t be about to make a third offer if we weren’t very close. He’s gone mate.

I'm Scottish and the rumour is the boys heads now turned.. 3 times anyone's salary and a chance play against the best would make any player in Scotland want away.. Teirney has won it all in Scotland but he knows if he ever wants to try and compete for caps with Andy Robertson he won't get a sniff plying his trade in scotland..

Think celtic need the ongoing saga to deflect from the fact that a large percentage of celtic fans didn't want lennon and he,s failed to deliver on 6 or 7 transfer targets so far....

How close are Rangers, it was only a few seasons ago Celtic were supposed to be 20 years in front of Rangers... Would the Teirney cash help them to pull away from the rest and impact on Europe..
Selling Tierney really wouldn't effect our budget, we already have a stockpile of cash in the bank, money isn't the reason we struggle to get the right level of players, it's how the league is viewed.

We've used the last 5 years to invest heavily in our clubs property and infrastructure, we have a very simple business model.

Part 1: Produce or hoover up the best home grown talent that can be sold at a later date at a large profit.

We've never been stronger in that department than we are now with KT, Forrest, McGregor, Christie, Johnston, Ajer, Henderson and young Karamoko Dembele

All of those players are already or are expected in the future to be worth 10's of millions.

Part 2: Sign high potential young players from across Europe with the promise that they will be able to use us as a stepping stone to bigger things, Wanyama, VVD, Dembele are some of our biggest successes in that department and the next wave like Ntcham, Edouard, Shved, Luca Connell, Bolingoli are at different stages of that plan.

Eddy will most likely be next years big sale, and we're gonna really miss him.

It's really the only sustainable way for us to operate, it's the Ajax model, but they have been doing it for 20 years so we're not quite there yet.

As for how close Rangers are, off the pitch and financially they are miles behind, and are most likely in the process of damaging their future finances by trying desperately to stop 10 in a row, on the pitch there's still a pretty big gap, but the fact that they should now be able to beat most of the other teams pretty consistently means we will need to be far more clinical than last season, which was a complete mess behind the scenes and on the pitch.

Close ain't gonna get it done though, we have given them a price, so Arsenal will either have to meet it or move on, I expect this to run most of the transfer window.

If you model is to hoover up the best Scottish talent then how come you missed turnbull, mginn, hastie, mkenna and if its the same plan for Europe then.. How come some much money has been wasted on players that haven't worked out... And 3rd point if your playing squad is so far ahead of rangers how come they played you off the park in both old firm games at ibrox... And the last game at parkhead until the sending off....

Haha.

Turbull is still coming to Celtic, most likely still in this window, watch this space.

McKenna is overpriced, we made a bid but £7m for him is too risky, and doesn't leave a lot of room for us to make a profit down the line.

McGinn we tried to sign although I really wasn't concerned in missing out, if everyone is fit he's sat on the bench at Celtic.

Hastie, not at the required level.

Money being wasted on players, are you new to football?

If we go out and sign a bunch of guys who we think have a lot of potential there's always gonna be some who don't live up to it, but the successful ones are keeping us well into the green at the moment, so it's working very well.

And as for playing us off the park, 1-0 at Ibrox is hardly getting played off the park, we had no recognized striker and behind the scenes things were falling apart, in fact the entire season the management situation was causing problems, 2nd game the league was already won and it was like a cup final for Rangers.

Celtic signed Turnbull until he failed a medical. They werent prepared to pay more for McGinn (and also Rodgers had bought a load of duds and needed to sell some before buying). McKenna  i wouldnt say Celtics goal is to hoover up the best talent in Scotland but further afield. Thats where theyve had most joy but when you operate on that budget then you will invariably buy duds. Arsenal bought duds at 35m. Price isnt always an indicator of quality.

Celtic finished 9 points ahead of Rangers and done a treble, again. They are and remain streets ahead of Rangers. Rangers have improved and Celtic had their worst season in a while last season. From losing Dembele, the Boyata situation,to the Rodgers situation. Player burn out from playing every domestic game 3 seasons in a row, plus CL qualifiers, European games and the players on international duty. The squad is absolutely busted. And still they won everything domestically and finished 9 points above Rangers .

Anyway. Back to Arsenal.

Heard celtic board were stockpiling cash to fend off compen claims for sex abuse victims... And lawwell has hired a pr firm working to deflect the fallout...

So what your saying is Steven Gerrard will get sacked by Christmas.. When celtic sweep the floor with the rest again this season..

I have no doubt that it contributed to it, KT was different to most young players when he made his debut.

Most young players are inconsistent and drop in and out of the team for 18 months before becoming fully fledged first team regulars, but when he got his chance he just looked like he'd been doing it for years, a couple of games in and everyone was in agreement that he was a major upgrade on Izzy, who was actually quite well thought of at the time.

It should tell you a lot about the type of threat KT is when even as a LB he's probably the most fouled player in the league, but he's hard as nails, and always bounces right back up.

I love him. Not joking either. I’ve seen him plenty of times and really rate him. And as a Scot I’d be chuffed to bits if Arsenal signed him.
