It worked when he was at Dortmund with Reus and Lewandowski with Auba mostly playing on the right of the 3 from what I understand. It could work again with Zaha/Everton.
It should work. winger with bags of skills is much needed for Aub out wide to work (even though he would only actually play out wide when defending)

Seen this mentioned a couple of times on different threads now, how come?

People think Man City are likely to get a ban from the Champions League for breaching FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules.

Uefa is still deciding what punishment to hand out, if any. If they do get banned it is most likely to come into effect after this season, hence why some think 5th will get you CL.

Yes it worked great at Dortmund. However Laca is no Lewandowski, and we have none of Reus. Even if we do get Zaha/Everton, I think it will only be good not great. But maybe good is the best we can hope for.

Nice. Another link to a cm with no physical power or pace. Xhaka, Guendouzi, Torreira and Ceballos as our options. I look forward to losing most of our games away from home when we can't control the game as we fill our midfield with players that can't run.

Ceballos is very quick player maybe he lack Physical but we missed a player who can drive the ball forward good in both of his feet.

He’s going to take our midfield up a notch no problem.

Already he’s better than that bum Kovacic.

think of all the good teams who had the same 'problem', and all the ones that still have that 'problem' while adding all the silverware in the meantime

Based on what? Kovacic played for the senior national team and now has a season under his belt. Midfielders who are young don't just come into England and take it by storm. There is adaptation. Assuming Ceballos will come in and instantly be some sort of Messiah is ludicrous especially what it is based on. Minutes here and there for the past 2 seasons and under 21 performances. FFS how does that mean he will take our midfield up a notch. Maybe technically, but he won't be putting in tackle after tackle, he won't be recovering, he won't be dribbling as much as he does vs 20 year olds, he won't be out pacing people because he isn't actually fast, he won't be winning any headers because he is **** in the air.

If he replaces Xhaka, fine. But that still leaves a massive hole in our midfield. If he plays alongside Xhaka and Guendouzi, our midfield will be an absolute joke.

We are not Real Betis who play in sunny Spain. We are Arsenal in the Premier League, where finishing in the top 6 is a struggle. Not to mention the fact that our away record is crap because teams outrun us in midfield. We are the Arsenal who struggle to beat Watford with 10 men. In order to improve we need dribblers on the wing, full backs that have energy. Pace, power and energy to press and track back in midfield.

Apparantly we were looking at targets in France and Germany. Probably looking at players like Sangare, yet now we are going for a player on loan that we probably won't have next year. Emery has chosen Ceballos, just like he chose Denis ****ing Suarez.

Literally Nuri Sahin all over again.

In a three with Xhaka & Lucas could work if they have width in front & Bellerin / Tierney at FB.

Hard to really see him in a two with any midfielder we have.

Intrigued who the other CMs we looked at are.

Do you know we don't have enough money to get all the signings? Ceballos on loan would be best we can afford so we can spend money on Tierney Saliba Zaha/Soares
