Or maybe, just maybe the independent story was correct, they rejected our offer, which to me is more than enough as apparently it was 55m + 10m add ons, Nelson and Jenko. And we've moved straight away for Soares.

If Emery is to be taken at his word, after the Fiorentina match he said the club was still pursuing first choice players. Everything so far has indicated Zaha is first choice over Soares. I don't see how any movement on Soares can be advanced for Arsenal, beyond just rumours to try to get value from the Zaha transfer. There's only so long that game can be played, so odds are Soares is unsettled, wants a move, and will move to another club (not Arsenal).
