While these French teams are relatively poor compared to the teams in the PL. It isn't the case they are completely skint. Bordeaux for example received £22m for a CB this window. Rennes already spent £20m this window. They do have a few million they could give us, it is just that they are taking us for mugs. We build a reputation as a charity club who were always willing to help out if you asked nicely.

What have they been drinking in Bordeaux?

Koscielny had only been at Arsenal for about a year when he saw our captain Fabregas force his move to the club he wanted to join, with Arsenal taking less than he was worth to make it happen.

A week later, Nasri forced a move to Man City, and Arsenal made it happen for him. The next year, the captain Van Persie forced a move to Man United, for less than he was worth, because that's what the player wanted and Arsenal went along with it.

In recent years, our highest paid player Özil skips games that he doesn't feel like playing because of sudden illness or back injuries. He's allowed to do this with regularity.

So Koscielny is used to seeing Arsenal pushed around by players and other clubs, and he expects Arsenal to continue to accommodate unhappy players and other clubs. From his point of view, this is what happens at Arsenal, and now it's his turn to be accommodated and catered to, and it's time for Arsenal to let him go where he wants without getting full value, like they always have done for captains and good players since he's been at the club.

Unfortunately for him, those times are (hopefully) over and Arsenal should not allow its players and other clubs to bully it anymore.

It's time to put a stop to this nonsense and for Arsenal to send a message to players, agents and other clubs that it will no longer be bullied.

Well put man, it’s about time we become a competitive club rather than gentlemen.

I think we will slowly see a mentality change on the pitch. After all players have said that when they first joined Arsenal it felt like a spa. Let’s get the most out of our players ffs.

I agree on some points but those players who left were all sold, we may not have liked it but we got paid for them. Kos on the other hand expects us to let him go for free, that's a big difference, he's also the only one to have refused to tour. He really is out on his own with the way he has behaved. I don't think it has anything to do with what he's seen in the past, he's just a C**T

I have said it before this case is unique as Kos basically thought he could terminate his contract unilaterally. When we said that wasn't possible he threw a tantrum, culminating in another first, refusing to go on tour. I can't stress enough the huge difference between all the previous players who wanted to leave and what Kos has demanded.

Not one of those players asked for their contracts to be terminated and not one of those players went on strike.

Of course those situations are different, that's not the point. The point is that for Koscielny's entire run at the club he has seen players accommodated and the club giving in and letting them go when and where they want, for less money than they were worth.

So Kos thought it was his turn to dictate his departure to the club. When the club refused, he got mad and went on strike.

Besides burning us heavily on lowering his market price, Fabregas had also paid off the remainder of his contract from his own funds, just so we sell him.

True that Kos saw what a soft touch we were when players asked to leave. However, instead of doing the usual tricks to force a move, he upped the ante and went beyond a line no player ever crossed with us.

It takes a certain level of arrogance to even think of doing that, not to mention a complete disregard for us fans, who have stood by him for nearly a decade. The man has no shame. He is even working with 2 seperate clubs to 'persuade' us to let him go.

I'm on board with the principle of getting something for Kos. But realistically, how much are the club actually after ? It can't be more than a couple mill can it ?

What an amazing attitude Kosh. just f**k off.

I’ve always liked Kosh and felt her was very professional. But he’s shown a classless attitude all through 2018-2019. If his transfer fee is <1 million, just let him rot on the reserves. You won’t be pushing the club around.

There's a very spiteful part of me that would be more than happy to just have him kept in the reserves for the rest of the year to make an example of him. Obviously that's not wise and we should just take whatever we're offered at this point but still...what an absolute prick.

This is a 180!

Thought he always seemed a bit too weak & nice.
Weirdly he's chosen potentially the worst time to behave like this. Surely he'll know the new setup will want to make a point and not come of as weak, this might have worked in the past but now it seems a bit silly.
