But Nasser Al-Khelaifi changed completely in this case.
He wanted prestige and the best players for all costs, there was nearly no chance he would let Neymar leave.

Then he said something like "if they don't want to be part of our project, they can leave". After that Barca realized, that Neymar is a realistic option, because PSG doesn't want to keep him anymore.

But Griezmann was already a done deal. Without the Griezmann transfer, Neymar would be probably a Barca player already.

They didn’t activate Griezmann’s clause for almost another month after the PSG president said that.

They’ve wanted both from almost day one, that’s why they were so desperate to pay for AG in instalments.

Really don't understand why PSG haven't and don't just get the best French talent. Paris produces the best talent in the world, should be getting all of them together. The whole club would be a lot more likeable as well.

Yeah that baffles me as well, think they may have f*cked themselves with FFP after signing Neymar then MBappe back to back.

Feels like they lack patience maybe and want to be more like Real Madrid and Barcelona than Bayern?

But agree. All the best talents are in France at the moment and they should be able to bully clubs like Bayern does in their country.

Heard one of the French journos say that their big players like Pogba, Griezmann etc think playing for PSG would be bad for their marketing; that they need to be playing in the PL or one of the big 2 in Spain.

Yeah guess there is a problem with the league too. Not big enough for the biggest talents!

Why don't we build in higher sell on clauses? Of course you won't get a lot of money for those youngsters. But then you should rather lower the fee and put in a higher sell on clause. In the end would be a win-win for both clubs. If he's a flop they paid less. If he's a top they get a lot of money anyway.
Turns out the 10% figure being thrown around wasn't true:

People tend to forget that the dutch league is weak. Last years' Ajax team wasn't even that good IMO.

Fairly sure that Ziyech, De Jong, De Ligt and Donny will struggle in their new clubs. Let's see.

What do you mean by this though? They clearly weren't weak considering they beat Juventus and Real Madrid over 2 legs in the CL, and were unlucky to not make the final.

I agree about the Dutch league but Ajax were a top side last season, outplayed Sp**s over the two legs but their inexperience showed in the end (as well as bad luck, considering they hit the woodwork in each of the two legs vs Sp**s)

Think Havertz still will be their first choice next summer, so they want to decide between Havertz and Coutinho (if they get an option to buy). If they can get Havertz, he is probably their first choice together with Sane.

So Neymar to Barca is probably off or they are giving them Dembele, but don't think so.
