Considering the pressure Liverpool have piled on us and the possession they've had, not too bad conceding a set piece. We could have scored, Pepe's blundered 1v1 with the keeper might prove costly. He's lacking some sharpness but his touch, dribbling, pace and vision is obvious. Overall, considering our awful history in recent years against Liverpool, we've looked OK so far.

Disgusted. Kept them to dreaming of corner kicks and that's exactly how they scored.

Auba has been ****e - Pepe needs much better support and someone to combine with properly.

Ceballos a let-down.

Liverpool are really ****ing efficient with the ball. I really don't think we've been that bad. There is a game plan, and for the most part I think it's been OK. Pepe scoring that and we'd all be talking positively.

This is a very strong Liverpool side who have shown they can match city. Need to keep perspective. David Luiz has been very good. Youngsters like willock have performed pretty well. Pepe is a constant threat and given us a lot to be hopeful about. As long as Auba is on there is always a goal in us.

Our problems are that our full backs are not our first choice. Ceballos looks like this game hit him like a truck, and when we do have the ball it's looked a bit rushed and nervous.

There are points here for us if we can keep our composure and make the 2 or 3 big chances you'd expect us to get, count.

I think we will get top four.

Dani made me a fan for life after last week, but he has easily been our worst player today.

Could have scored one, but we are lucky we are just 1 goal down.
Not losing but 3+ goals would be a good result.

Decent performance. Could easily have scored a couple if Pepe / Auba had finished their chances.

Poor defending from Sokratis on the corner but Liverpool are so hard to defend against.

Would keep the team as it is for a while. Keep it tight and try and knick one on the counter. Our strategy is working. Liverpool will get nervy if they go into the last 20 mins only one goal ahead. At that point we can go 433 and try to take the game to them.

take xhaka off for laca
play ceballos guendouzi willock in midfield

and let's ****ing go

stop playing like cowards

Emery is the coward. Spend 70 million on a winger to play him up front. Bring Xhaka in for what? He is too scared to take more than one touch in possession.

second half will be exactly the same. Miss a few sitters before getting dominated. sick of this manager.

That was actually a solid display 1st half. Liverpool seem to be a 1 trick pony constantly crossing balls in unable to break our defence and scored via a set piece.

We had chances and should of taken them.

It is really true about their midfield and their lack of quality/creativity, they just run, when they get the ball, pass it to the forwards or more often than not, they give it to their fullback who just cross and and cross a d cross.

This is the approach we need for this game, forget playing like cowards.

Emery has been good generally, until we get better players playing together, we need to close up shop against the superior sides.
