I'd love Rangnick but it seems he doesn't want to coach anymore, unless it's a huge club like Bayern or Man u?

He wants a project and he wants control over his projects, that's the crux with him. If he's in, he's basically the boss and you do stuff his way or he's off. That's why he's said he's only interested in coaching gigs like his Salzburg days and his latter Leipzig days, being coach and DoF in one person. If he can't have that, he's only available for exec posts like DoF or the like.

Yes he does want influence across the whole club, in a recent interview regarding an approach from Man u needing a DoF. He also said that the RBL role of combined coach+DoF couldn't work long term, because he knew the young players and brought them through when DoF.

I've guessed that he is probably the type that would want a lot of control in a club, whatever role he is in. There were rumours that he was interested in the Bayern job and they in him, but preliminary talks broke down partly because Rumenigge and Hoeness wanted a more compliant coach.

When RBL couldn't find a suitable coach, he stepped in as coach, then stepped down again for Hassenhuttl. When Hassenhuttl couldn't agree a new contract with RBL and left, he stepped in again, then stepped down again for Nagelsmann. Even though he did really well, it doesn't seem like he's that keen on being a coach anymore, unless as mentioned it's for a huge club, the type of club that he's never managed before, the type of huge opportunity that would be a nice achievement to add to his career.

You never know if he could be tempted though, if we sell our project to him, but it's probably not likely.

No he’ll be sacked tonight or tomorrow morning. Freddie for Norwich and probably someone new next week.
Hope you are right, even as one of the more cynical members here about Raul's intention to ever fire this guy, tonight felt like the end.

But you never know with dumb and dumber in charge. Whatever rationale existed that allowed Emery to stay in charge tonight might still exist for him to lead us out at the weekend.

At this rate even no manager, just an empty dug-out would be an improvement on Emery. Not having a replacement is just not an excuse anymore.

He doesn't even deserve the courtesy of a post match press conference.

Sack him ( and Raul) the moment they leave the stadium.

I think Raul must be at a point where he’d want to end this. If it doesn’t happen it’s more than likely the Kroenke’s saying no.

The players tanked this game in the second half. They were probably surprised at how shocking Frankfurt played in the first half. Apart from Willock no one was interested in playing today and I can't blame them.

Emery is gone tomorrow. No way he can last another week. He had to win these next three games convincingly to cool the 'noise'.
