Once he leaves, it will be a long time before we are able to attract someone of his calibre.

Good. Rather have Cantwell from Norwich! That's the calibre of player we need. Chases everything, knows when to shoot, when to pass, dies for the shirt. **** this social media hipster bullshit ****ing footballer we seem to be chock block full of.Once he leaves, it will be a long time before we are able to attract someone of his calibre.
Welcome to mid-table then.Calibre is not as important as effectiveness within the system

If we cannot accommodate players like Auba and Özil who have highly specialized roles, it is a failure of whatever 'system' we use. What system is that? All I see is a system with no functional midfield and poor defence.
I'm not implying that the current system works. Only a fool/troll would do such a thing. What system is that? All I see is a system with no functional midfield and poor defence.

We need players that suit our system, akin to the two best teams in the land currently, is all I meant. Clearly Mesut doesn't fit...
No you don't the whole idea of a luxury player is one you CAN have over and above the other stars who consistently turn games around for you.that's all what we're gonna get soon.
Players like that are the backbone of the team, but you need some special 'luxury' players to rise above the average ****.

We have no space for Özil actually. We need a winner. We need a game changer. We need someone who acts, walks, talks, breathes like a ****ing top earner in the squad. Not a sulky brat who has silky skills but very rarely turns a game on its head. He is past it. I love Özil. His football is beautiful but it is ineffective at the moment. He's a square peg in a round hole right now and has been for some time.
He is the poster boy for all our bad business in the last half a decade and one of the key reasons why we can't have decent players at this club.
Ozils wages are worth 3 players at other clubs.. His chances have been missed but it isn't as if he is the only player in the league who can kick a ball.. He never shoots either which is an absolute weakness. He is quite simply a beautiful footballer who plays a position that the modern game has forgottenI agree with some of your points and think Özil is past it, but one player isn't going to magically transform this squad. Not to mention, our attack is not our issue at the moment, our midfield and defence (in that order) are more pressing problems. Özil provided an assist today...and his set pieces are pretty much the only chances we're creating right now.
I disagree with your definition. A Lambo, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo is a luxury car. It cannot function as a daily driver. You cannot use a Bentley to get groceries from a side street. You use beater to do your chores while you use the Lambo when you want to have fun.No you don't the whole idea of a luxury player is one you CAN have over and above the other stars who consistently turn games around for you.

Emery has really destroyed your confidence.it is the same for the players. We don't need to have fun, we need the damn groceries!
That is great. I applaud you but the reality is it is up to the board..I won't settle for mediocrity just because to prove a point.

Auba is a striker who does nothing else (sorta like Nistelrooy), basically a spectator for anything other than getting goals. There are other forwards like Laca, Welbeck who help out the team in other areas. Not sure about the inclusion of Auba here? How is a striker classified as a “specialised role”. Whereas in Juan Matas recent interview he stated that his and Ozils traditional role is dead in the modern game.
Hope all the fanboys **** off with him.
