Now Arteta could be in bench for this I'll be interested to see what line up he'll start with expecting 4123 with Torreira as holding mid and Özil Ceballos as advanced mid Pepe Martinelli Auba upfront

Going to be nice having a handsome, follicle rich manager again. Imagine being Sean Dyche or Woy and having to look across the touchline at that. Like a Spanish John Stamos. Match is over before it begins.

Arteta’s first trip to Goodison as an Arsenal player in 2012...a gritty 1-0 win to The Arse, yes please!

...could only find this Rosicky comp of the game, but wanted something from the game in the thread...hoping it brings us some good luck.

Isn't this Arteta's most notable moment in this fixture?

That was a game which we played quite poor, but we won 4-1 away to Goodison with Eduardo scoring a brace.
Moyes was livid, as he blurbed something about robbery

Arteta was also part of the Everton side that we trashed 7-0 at Highbury on last season there. :)

There are only two realistic options here:

1. A Big Dunc-led Everton bludgeon us to defeat.
2. An Ancelotti-led Everton guile us to defeat.
3. Iwobi scores the winner from a Walcott cutback.
He proceeds to a no-celebration routine, but does an instinctive dab-dab soon after.

Weirdly this seems likely to be a game where both new managers are in the stands and taking over immediately after

Always really liked Arteta as a player, even before we signed him...but my first thought of him is Edu absolutely putting him on his arse during our 7-0 in 2005

For the first goal.

3. Arsenal ride a new manager wave as they sweep Everton aside in an impressive showing at Goodison.

Had to cross that option out now it looks like Arteta won't be in charge.

Damn only 2 options left now.

1. A big Dunc led Everton bludgeoning us to a defeat as predicted by @Mo Britain.
2. After getting battered for 70 minutes we stumble across 2 lucky goals and somehow come away with a win.

Not sure about the defence, just take your pick from a bad bunch. But would like to see Torreira and Luiz sit in front of a back 4, playing a poor man's Vieira & Petit role.

Auba and Laca up front as twin strikers, with Pepe on the right and Martinelli on the left.

I don't want to see AMN anywhere near the team, the dopey **** looks half asleep most of the time, and ain't that good anyway.

No Özil for the usual reasons.

Willock has peaked and has now gone over the top and needs a rest. But will come good again at some point.

Gendouzi is overrated and overplayed imo - he's the best headless chicken we've had since Gervinho. Plus you've only got to look at him and he falls over. Don't get the love for him at all.

Tough tough game.

If we start with the same team and tactics as we did against city then we are in big trouble. Would like to see us start with a 5-4-1 as below

Leno
Amn rwb
Chambers cb
Sok cb
Holding cb
Any fit lb
Torry cdm
DC cm
Willock CM
Martinelli cam
Laca CF

Solid and focus on not conceeding and not letting everton play. If we can nick a goal great, if not just dont let them score.

70mins
Leno
Chambers rb
Sok cb
Holding cb
Any fit lb
Torry cdm
Willock cm
DC cm
Martinelli lw
Pepe rw
Auba cf

If we are not winning make sure 70mins we are in the game and then hit them with fresh fast legs. We get a goal late on and we can win easily.
