This guy is rubbish. If all you're looking for is a back-up there are much cheaper options out there. If Newcastle/Villa get relegated, you could get Dummett or Targett, who at least are decent, and wouldn't want as big wages.
Edit: homegrown too

Not a loan though so that would be 3 left backs not on small wages unless we shift one.
that's the only issue. but again needs must. we have a defence that is let's face it falling apart. Holding injury, Bellerin injury, Koscielny disappearing, Tierney signing injured, Chambers getting injured.

It's got to the point we need bodies in. if the consequences of that are permanent signings then you have to go with it and revaluate in the summer. The way our players get injured and the amount of games we play we probably need 3 left backs.

This seems like a waste of money, unless Tierney is a perma crock, in which case THAT was a ****ing waste of money!

We are losing money fast, and have to be smart with our buys...this will be our THIRD damn left back bought in the last three and a half years on over £100,000 a week...wtf!?

Can't we just roll with Sead and Saka (Niles could play here too, if the vegan can ever tear himself away from he runway) for the rest of the year until Kieran is back next season?

Tierney looked decent but there's not a lot of confidence in him staying injury free throughout a season. We've definitely spaffed £25m up the wall there.

I think that is a really harsh assessment of Tierney.

He's still only 22 and played 33, 40, 55 & 40 times from 2015-16 to 2018-19, 168 appearances is 4 seasons is good numbers.

His injuries since arriving have been a major downer but there is as more evidence to suggest that he can stay fit and play a lot of games than there is to say he is a crock.

Hopefully this was just a really unlucky season and he can go on to be a top left back for us for the next 5-10 years.
