Better than our useless arrogant piece of **** English referees who never want to overturn anything because they don’t want to undermine their fellow referee and never apologise for incorrect decisions. ****ing ****s.

Big, big factor in why refereeing is so **** in football. In Germany we got the idiom "Eine Krähe pickt der anderen kein Auge aus": A crow doesn't peck another crow's eye. Not a single ref in this sport will admit to a mistake that could fall on another ref's back or maybe even his own. It breeds inconsistencies and prevents refs getting better at their job. They always have each other's back no matter how bogus a decision was.

Can't understand why they're never ever accountable. Hate them all.

Would you guys want to sign Auba to a new contract if, as is likely, he demands Özil type wages (or possibly even more)?

Interested to know what fellow posters think, because if he is demanding those types of sums I think we should cash in on him.
Yup. I’d re-sign him.

All the top strikers are over 30 and we won’t be able to afford another one.

For two seasons only.

League is very weak
Don’t think it’s about money anyway, he probably wants to join a big club now with more ambition.

Arsenal are a disgrace really, you question their buying policy because it looks like every few years we’ll sign a top player but then we’ll surround them with dross, has happened the same with Auba now, guy scores 60 goals in two seasons but we’re mid table and winning one game every other month.

He’s linked to PSG now.

Last game suspended for Auba. I want to see him with Martinelli at Turf Moor

I rather he extend than leave given Arteta will be in his first full season and it’s going to be hard to replace his goals.

With him we could make top 6 next year.

Only worried about him falling off a cliff like Özil has, if we give him a big contract, might lose his motivation as his career is nearer it's end.

That being said his numbers for the two years he has been here have been great, would like to see him extend...wonder who will come in for him...into his 30s now, and a limited game, interested to see what happens in the summer.

Every player is different, plus to be honest most of the elite strikers in the world are well into their 30’s.

If he’s sold it’s not the end of the world because honestly we’re a midtable team and he’s not essential for the results we are capable of. We would be better off keeping him though as we wouldn’t be able to replace a talisman properly.

Özil had won most things and turned soft during his time in Madrid, his case is different.

P.S Auba being a “limited” striker is like, one of the worst myths on AM in a long time it honestly needs to die.

Terrible hot takes
Speed is the first thing to go so sell IF we get a Good offer.

Otherwise play out the contract, do not renew

Listening to the handbrake off podcast Amy Lawrence had interviewed Darren Burgess:

He said Auba is a phenomenal athlete and his ability to repeatedly perform top speed sprints is remarkable. He also thinks he will maintain his level for a good while.

That 1st miss was one of the worst I have ever seen, not in terms of how easy it was but simply how the muppet kicked it away for the bloody goal
