Honestly Dembele could have the same work ethic as any top player but his injuries are absolutely not worth the money. He should of absolutely cemented a wing spot at Barca but hasn’t because of how many times he’s on the sideline.

He’s a lot better than Pepe imo. I’d take a loan with an obligation to buy with the requirement of him staying fit for most of the season in a heartbeat at that price.

In theory sure, but have you seen how many hamstring injuries he's had? Like his hamstrings are properly f*cked. We saw with Ramsey that once those muscles are vulnerable the player can never really be injury-free, it's just a matter of time before their next one.

For his sake I hope he can somehow turn it around, he's ridiculously talented. But as Arsenal fans we should know more than anyone that no matter how talented a young player is, injuries can ruin their careers very early on.

But sure if it were just a loan then why not, it's worth a try.

Yeah major red flags. The fact that Barca are willing to take such a loss and he's not exactly been linked with any top club. It's a shame but we've experienced this with Diaby and Wilshere we can't really afford to be stuck with another injury prone player.

I do find it interesting though that these problems only really started when he went to Barca.

Unmotivated? I think it takes quite some motivation to come back from the health problems he had mate. He was good last season as well, but does not seem to fit in Favres preferred system.

Maybe I'm being harsh on him? I don't watch a lot of Dortmund, but the bits that I saw of him last year looked like a shadow of the Gotze that I remembered.

I think it is a bit harsh, but in fairness that would probably have been my impression as well if i hadnt read what some Dortmund fans has said about his metabolic illness. Takes quite some willpower to come back from that i think, and the general consensus by Dortmund fans is that he was good last season. Kinda jack of all trades/utility player, remember seeing him bag some goals as a striker last season.

Never the less, not the player that we thought he would be and it sucks that it became defined by an undiagnosed illness that probably hindered him for years

This is why you hear some complaints from Barca fans about his attitude and unwillingness to apply himself. He doesn't seem to want to take care of his body. He's basically the complete opposite of Martinelli from all accounts.
