Juventus hiring first Sarri and then Pirlo rather than him. Bizarre.

They’re a well ran team though, they’d tried to innovate the club through its academies and scouting a few years back.

Worked off well ahead of schedule though.

Yep. Seems really well run. Just looked it up: Their DoF has been in place since 2010, and in 10/11 they got promoted to the Serie A. Then they managed to stay in there for the next few years, and now they'e taken the next step with Gasperini to take aim at the upper third of the table or even higher. Their Technical Director has also been in place there since 2014. Also only had 3 coaches since 2010.

Always tend to think constancy speaks volumes as to why some clubs get somewhere mid to longterm following a certain plan/strategy and actually sticking to it and the people who came up with it and giving them time to implement it. You can't change clubs and even less teams in minimal years or even transfer windows.

Yeah I don’t think this is all down to one manager tbh.

They’ve sustained a good level of success without doing the Dortmund or Monaco method of offering yourself up as a shop window club for young talent.

DoF and scouting needs to be on point to do this. Half these players I’d never even heard of before they played for Atalanta.

Not suited for big jobs he dont like to play with too much pressure on him and want time to build team you can see His work with Genoa and now Atalanta but when he asked Inter for time he got sacked in few months lol

They gave him 5 games after the Benitez misjudgement and with the ageing and fed treble winning team at hand.

Giving him time to develop a new team after the Mourinho era would've probably done them better than what the did in between. Took them until now with Conte to really have a sort of comeback.
