Atletico looked toothless upfront, Lacazette would suit them well.

Yeah, but influence nowdays is much bigger.Top 5 leagues were much more competitive and there was no so much difference between top and bottom in terms on money.

Blame the TV deal bargaining agreements. That was the thing that set the motions for it. Then it's the incapacity or unwillingness of governing bodies to introduce spending caps. Look at the NBA, the money in it is absolutely immense, but they keep it incredibly competitive with their regulations.

He only knows one way, he never adapts. Leopards don't change their spots. We've seen this so many times when Atletico play the Spanish sides in and around the relegation zone and they struggle even at home. Their backs to the wall underdog stuff might get them a remarkable win over a miss-firing Liverpool but it's got a ceiling and as a manager Simeone has a ceiling.

Agree. He's someone to get you from midtable into top third and CL and keeps you there as underdog and gives you a memorable success on the way, but once you're established as a top club with money and top players and teams change the way they see you and thus how they play you, meaning you have to become more pro active, he's not the right guy anymore. Atletico should have probably gone for someone else after the second lost CL final in 15/16. On the other hand Simeone guarantees them relative stability. Changing "just" to try and win the CL, where anything can happen, and to challenge Real and Barca, two clubs with bigger draw and financial resources, might also backfire.

They should make similar format like in EPL and some problems would be solved.

Messi winning it all would be funny but they’re getting battered about Bayern.

Leipzig are a pretty well supported team

They're not. They scooped up a lot of Eastern Germans who hadn't even 2nd, 3rd or 4th tier but still traditional clubs to support as Eastern German football has been done since the re-unification of Germany, but they're not well supported at all. They're like a Disney Land of football for Eastern Germans.

Leipzig have half a chance. Two one-off games, one against PSG who are serial bottlers in this competition. Imagine how sick Timo Werner would be if they actually won it, I know he'd still get a medal but it won't be the same.

Hope Leipzig get to the final now and set up a Bundesliga game against Bayern.

I still think Tuchel is getting fired if they don’t at least get to the final this year.

Lovely stuff.

...poor Ben.

It's definitely the other way round. Affleck has massive talent, maybe not so much as an actor although he is solid, but he's a very astute writer and director, knows how **** works. Actually think he'd have been far better off without acting and of course he's got his alcohol addiction but that's nothing to make too much fun of.

Wish the Champions League was a one of neutral venue game in the knockout rounds, when we were good in the 2000s.
