We have too many athletes. Not enough footballer. Reguilon is a baller that we need in our squad.

? - we actually have TOO FEW athletes, what are you talking about.

Biggest issue last season was our lack of athletic players in key positions, especially midfield.

Klopp built his success on exactly that, across the whole pitch. Arteta just said you won't win anything without monster atheletes in the league because you are going to be crushed.

I called a 5:2 for Bayern before the game mostly because of that - Barca lost the legs for keeping up. Physcially superior teams currently win stuff and Bayern has way too much of it for the ageing teams like Barca without legs.

Just look at prime Spain/Barcelona/Bayern/City and 07-08 Arsenal. In terms of technical ability we are now not even 1/10 close to that standard.

Look at Bayern? Mix of both. Tika taka football got found out years ago mate.
Yes, you need a mix of both.

Our attacking players have a certain level of athleticism, but ZERO technical ability except maybe Martinelli, Pepe and Willian (Saka and nelson are half capable)

And those exceptions that I have pointed out are not even close to top class dribbler like Douglas Costa or top class passer like Iniesta.

The last time we have a player with that level of technique was Sanchez.

You definitely need both and AMN offers the physical athleticism.

I'm making a bit of a U turn on this because of what Arteta is looking at going with. But we transition into a 433 with the ball, 541 without.

Martinez
AMN
Saliba
Gabriel
Tierney
Saka
Partey
Xhaka
Auba
New striker
Pepe

Is the way to go no? AMN and Saka are both comfortable being that inside player when attacking allowing Tierney to bomb forward in his natural left back role.

Reports say we want one forward and one midfielder along with Ceballos again on loan and the system we saw yesterday shows that.

I was just referencing the meme. AMN didn't put a foot wrong and Mane didn't get much joy either. Salah was useless though.
Salah went from winning the golden boot straight to being a serial diver and never been the same since, poetic justice?

Only Auba, Pepe and Martinelli have pace, the rest are slugs. We’re also lacking in players with decent technical ability. Ainsleys got pace and he’s a baller, we need to keep hold of him.

Mostly the league found out you don't let him turn. He runs out of ideas if he's facing his own goal and the Liverpool midfield are not clever enough to get get him in behind if the space is compressed.

Don't think Diego Costa is a better dribbler than Pepe, faster yes but certainly not a better dribbler.

Sanchez was a monster of an athlete actually. If you look at his Arsenal days he was very muscular and explosive.
Compare that to his Man Utd stint where his physique and form deserted him. He was the perfect blend of both athleticism and technique during his time at Arsenal and it’s no coincidence he’s fallen off now that his physical aspects have diminished.

You need to get over your tika taka fetish - like mentioned above, it got found out years ago.

You need legs at the very top of football now and Arsenal went down the toilet ever since we stopped relying on physically imposing players in favour of our popular but diminutive players associated with Emirates era.

Viera, Petit, Henry, Ljunberg, Lauren - those players get you titles and smash records.

Cesc and Hleb gets you nice football. Unless you pair them up with physically gifted players to pick up the slack.

Football has evolved into full pitch pressing and counter attacking method, and that is better than tika taka passing the opposition into sleep method, imho

The club is in a rebuild phase from almost all aspects - given our club performances and the general economic climate. And this is why we need to continue buy and sell extremely intelligently.

AMN is now a England international and it will be extremely unwise to sell him, what, 15m? That’s just bad business, and that’s regardless of AMN’s great form over the last 2 month. He’s showed what he can do when the confidence is there.

Saleable asset yes, but not now.
