i think Wenger still trusts in Giroud/Sanchez as CF with option to play Walcott or Perez in this position.
And Giroud did just extend his contract, i dont think he would have done so if Wenger is willing to pay big money on some other striker.

Depends what the plans are. If We get fancies Alexis as a striker then we need a top winger. If he views Alexis as a winger then we need a top striker.

We can't get stuck in this middle ground with another Perez who is neither a top player and isn't a specialist in either position.
I don't think the Alexis as a striker will work, especially with Özil here too.

Alexis as a striker was working tho, he's legit top scorer in the league.

The only reason it stopped was due to Theo being injured thus making us change the way we were set up slightly and Giroud's good form then kept him in the team.
I don't think Theo's injury was the reason. I mean, we have Perez who is not so dissimilar from Theo and Wenger even started Alexis up top and Perez on the right away at Basel.

Morata is great. He has the skills and the hunger.

He's a bit raw currently but he has the potential to be a really great striker/Attacking midfielder.

45 goals in 83 games as youth, an amazing feat even in 2nd tier.

27 goals in 93 games in Juventus primarily as a midfielder.

He's kinda like C. Ronaldo. A striker forced to play the role of an attacking midfielder (at manutd) but still play very well.

Raw and made mistakes but still impressed many people.

However, he won't be an instant fit at Arsenal. Also, he won't be the centre forward that arsenal needs in the short 1-2 seasons.

Mid 20s & yet to reach 10 league goals in a first division is a huge issue for me. You dont pay 50m for that & just hope the goals double. Even if playing in other positions you have to ask why thats the case.

I give Giroud stick but even with being dropped, injured & huge droughts he usually gets around 15 goals + more assists.

For 50m I want goals combined with pace & a more dynamic style to take us up a level.

A good player is a good player.

Surrounded by Sanchez, Perez, Welbeck, Özil, Walcott etc.. he could score and/or assist/contribute to play every game for us for all we know.

Errr, what?. He's 24, won't turn 25 for a long time, and has played a lot more than 114 times.

Born in 1992, though in the autumn. I did not count his games for Castilla, it is hardly senior football. Guess you could add his 18 international appearances though. If you value international football, which few sane people do.
