19/20 Player Awards

Has anybody playing in Henderson's position won this award before? Because it's very hard to be visible playing that role and the stats usually don't show much.

People were saying he should awarded much earlier in the first half of the season. That's an insult to Mane, Arnold and to Van Dijk, let alone De Bruyne.

How has the average clogger and modern day David Batty been made POTY? Henderson shouldnt even make TOTY. One of the worst winner decisons ever up there with Parker, Ginola and Bale.

Should of been KDB by a landslide.

This is the FWA award, it’s not the main one which hopefully he won’t win.

They always factor in narrative and off the field stuff. Think Henderson was commendable for his role in the Players Together initiative during the pandemic in actually making huge differences to people and leaving Matt Hancock to look the bellend that he is.

They gave it to Sterling last year even though he wasn’t City’s player of the season mainly due to him highlighting the racism in their coverage of him.

KDB, Trent or Mané will probably win the main award.

Should be called 'Football person of the year' or something. He moves into contention if it's that. But when you put 'player' in the title, you're not looking at Jordan Henderson.

Yeah think that’s why Rashford was in the top three despite missing half the season.

And I'm thinking Sterling the year before. Seems like off-field stuff and sentiment are what it's all about. Most journo's are self-indulgent **** suckers anyway.

Yeah they were sh*tting themselves last year after Raheem posted all those screenshots of their dodgy coverage of him

As amazing as the off the field stuff is, none of it should matter...it should only be what you and your team do on the pitch.

Shouldn't the off the field stuff be only considered in something like the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year?

If the award is just for who is the best person each season...then Parlour should have won it over Henry in 2004, for that joke he played on Keown on the last day that season, about the last sub being him and not Keown when he needed one more appearance for his medal...Keown absolutely **** himself, amazing from Ray

Kante won it in 16/17.

Arsenal players to have won the PFA POTY award:

Brady, Bergkamp, Henry x2, Van Persie.

League is very weak
Van Dijk didn’t put a foot wrong this season until he switched off against us. Think it’s incredible you can vote Henderson over him and Mané.

This is big English bias though, they’ve built up a big emotional narrative around Henderson. I actually like Henderson btw.

This is the writer’s one so there’s still some hope they do the right thing for the legit one, but I doubt it..

Their reasoning for giving it to him is so ridiculous

Same as with Henderson now, most of these writers gave this award to Scott Parker.

The reason: he showed pashun, completely ignoring the fact that the same Parker led West Ham down to relegation :lol:
