I think a lack of sales of our deadwood is probably what scuppered the Aouar deal from happening. If we could have just brought in another £20m or so then I think we'd have had both Aouar and Partey in an Arsenal shirt by the end of the window.

Still, you can't have everything. Partey is an exceptional signing and he'll add more to the team than Aouar would, at least in the short term.
