I just don’t see why we need this infantilised media? If that’s the case we’re essentially saying MOTD is a children’s show.

I swear on the continent you get much more forthright opinions from pundits, French pundits wouldn’t hold back they’d criticise anything.

We have a PL club which has just spent 1 billion in a year and it’s only in certain newspaper columns you hear about it, not on TV.

The league is bullsh-t if it’s so fragile it can’t withstand criticism from popular pundits.
Sure it’s a children’s show. The aim is to get people hooked as young as possible to become life long followers.

Tbf yeah it’s probably in reality always been a children’s show it’s just never explicitly labelled as such.

If any other Premier League club with private owner is in the same situation like Pep’s cheats (115 charges), would UK government discuss about these charges?
So much about equality among clubs.
Disgrace.

And now we should expect fair punishment for cheats?
How to punish them and not to insult Abu Dhabi?
Was this subject of these discussions?

Oh my word, this guy is a problem. Also what a clear upgrade on Grealish he is too. He looks so much more threatening. You could argue maybe his style makes him more prone to losing possession but he didn't lose it overly much yesterday. As a full-back you have no idea what to do because he's so comfortable going inside or on the outside. Can combine well, has electric pace, good end product even with his weaker foot. You can see him attracting Bowen to whole time and this is where having guys like Alvarez and Silva between the lines is so beneficial because the defending team has to make decisions and in turn it'll leave pockets of space. You either block out the space for Doku to drive into which leave spaces for the inside midfielders or you block off the passing options and leave some space for Doku to drive into.
Where do they find these people?😭

Bloody hell, his confidence on the ball is giving me Neymar vibes.

They'll become the biggest club in the world over the next 20 years, I can see them overtaking both Man Utd's League title record and Liverpool's European cups.

And therein lies the tragedy of State ownership. It's a behemoth that none can dislodge or hope to take on in a fair fight!!

Although I agree I think a lot of it has to do with those two Barca guys they got Soriano and Txiki I think their names were. Not sure if Newcastle can repeat the same success Man City have had, they're in an era now where players cost 70+ million and don't even have to be that good.

Agreed.

Soriano & Begiristain have been instrumental in their success on the field in that they've left Pep with no off-field distractions which has allowed him to solely focus towards on-field issues.

They're a well-oiled machine with a bottomless pot of gold.

Txiki Begiristain has to be the hardest name to spell I've ever seen, I just went with his first name.

It is a mouthful. I've always thought he was Armenian than realized the A comes before I, so that's my theory pretty much dead
