...death or glory for this man next season, you can tell he doesn't do things normally.

Really? Think he’s one of those you want to do well.

Either way, selling Martinez looks a massive mistake.
Don’t like how arrogant he got after a few months of good form. Started doing weekly podcasts/interviews and went **** for the rest of the season.

Big questions marks going into this season.

Think goalkeepers have to be crazy, arrogant or weird. Looks like a big character in the dressing room too. Better than having a cold polish Tesco security guard like Leno.

The club should stop him from doing podcasts though.

Big season for him though. Would say the last few months have ruled him out of starting in the WC, before that he was starting to put pressure on Pickford.

Think it was always gonna be impossible for him to start at the World Cup, even if his form didn't dip.

Pickford has never let England down, the World Cup was too soon for him to be replaced, especially by a manager like Southgate.

If Pickford continues to be dodgy and Aaron becomes more consistent, he could be England number 1 at the Euros.

Glad we got rid of Martinez. Guy talked bigger than his performances. Sat the bench for 10 years literally doing nothing and expected to be rewarded.

Not sure why @GDeep™ keeps recycling old ****e arguments tho

At least get your facts right, he spent the bulk of his time here on loan. Young GK’s rarely just sit on the bench. After his loan at Reading many here felt he was ready for the first team. The coaches within the club told him he’ll eventually breakthrough at Arsenal, which he did during our FA Cup run.

Don’t know why you’re so bitter for, this is a guy who helped us win a cup, and has genuine love for the club.

Think he can improve as long as we keep White out of the pitch.

His form took a nosedive when he saw White conceding a penalty and decided to clap him. He was never the same after that moment, it was like he remembered his career was all about relegation calibre performances and watching relegation calibre defenders around him, and he couldn't shake this thought off for the rest of the season. Suddenly, he went from a GK capable of having the odd match saving performance to someone that kept making at least 1 potentially disastrous mistake every game.

He's doomed to regress on paper with the non competition of Turner and Inaki Cana's training, but getting that confidence back is essential to help him pretend he's a top level GK for another while.

We really need him to be good though, as we have no alternative.

He could be the difference between Europa League and Champions League, depending on the season he has.

Sure, sitting the bench is an expression that has a different connotation for me whereas young players in football can be loaned elsewhere to play for development when they would ride the bench for their own club. It's a catch all phrase used for non-starting players in the way I think about it.

In any case, it's time to stop crying over this dude and move on.

Nobody is crying, we’re on a forum. There is a discussion about Wenger going on atm in the Arteta thread.

If anything, you’re the one crying because I mentioned Emi, you could’ve just ignored it.
