We need to have some feedback from @albino.
What is being talked about, who is in for transferring Aaron, how difficult was this season etc...?

Just saw on the daily transfer update feed that we'll loan Ramsdale if we can't recoup his fee - I would be normally against this but definitely agree in this case. We can't bend over and sell him for 15m, that's mental.

If you loan him get a decent loan fee & he has a good season his value increases.
So it's a good idea in theory. Problem is we need to sell some to raise funds.we could say the same about a lot of players tbf there is prob less risk with a GK

Non of our loans really worked out last season in increasing value.

We could loan Eddie or Reiss out & they could have super good seasons at Prem clubs & double their value.
Alternatively they could tank/be hit by injuries & we may struggle to sell.

Agree - I was making an exception in Ramsdale's case because it's not the same as an ESR or Eddie. For the Hale End boys, they just need to be shifted for whatever we can get for them.

Sambi had injuries, but didn't he take a starting role at Luton? That must have upped his value. Not all players can do that in EPL in midfield, although Luton didn't get results, because their scoring was bad. And it's easier to break at Luton. He played 1310 EPL minutes with 1+3.

Ok yeah sure fair point may have upped his value a bit but you are likely talking a few mill. What I mean is it's likely not enough to get good money for him. Fair play to Luton but let's be honest they are basically a championship side. Sambi struggled at CP

Both Sambi & Nuno were bought cheap enough tbf for their potential. None of them imho have shown enough to really increase value substantially.

Let's be honest transfer fees have kinda gone batsh!t crazy since we signed them so who knows but I think we will struggle to get our money back which is not great for young players with potential. Both have some very good attributes but have not developed enough.

Yeah, well not really upped their value, it depends how you view it.

My view is that Sambi's value tanked, and Arsenal could be able to fetch their money back almost. So in a sense it upped his value.

It's too bad Tavares' loan at Nottingham was so bad. Marseille was pretty good and it looked like Arsenal could get a small profit.

These are punts you take when the funds are low, while having to value the benefit of having a backup in a long season.

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
Suddenly Newcastle are broke? That why they gonna sell Guimaraes. Trafford likely gonna go for 10M with Burnley relegated

Don't know what we are asking tbf. Can remember a figure of around £50m being leaked some time ago which looked high.

Put it this way I highly doubt we are asking for £20m or less.

Ok It says at least £30m.

But we may only be at £30m if they give us Bruno for £70m 🤔

It's just like us saying we won't pay the release for Bruno.

There is a deal to be done if both parties compromise.

Reminds me of Tierney last year. Think a reason we struggle to shift players is because he pay these guys very well. Surely Ramsdale is on 100k?
Yeah most likely. But I think both Tierney and Ramsdale were signed to those wages in expectation they would be first choice for a while. And then things changed rapidly for both.

Going forward this should be a less of an issue, as it was the price we have to pay for a couple of guys coming in when we had no CL.

Think Martinelli's wages are much more of a problem. Same for Kai if he somehow reverts.

Unless Newcaslte changes their stance - or we do some funky accounting if we land Bruno/Isaak - I can only see Ramsdale moving on loan with a good-ish loan fee and an option to buy.

He was on £60,000 a week, then we gave him a new deal on £120,000 last May before replacing him three months later. 🫠

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
