I just can’t get past this. Absolute criminal behaviour. Shame drippin isn’t around anymore these days to tell us all about how we gave him the new contract to ensure we kept his value alive so that we could perpetually loan him till said contract expires.

Ramsdale or Raya can easily be sold for what they were bought for, so the long-term is not affected at all, but Arsenal now has two top young HG GK's on long contracts. And they can decide how to proceed.

The squad is getting quite close to being complete, so in the coming years there should be more space in FFP anyway. This season it was still pretty tight.

It’s not just Arteta to blame tho. This really is one of those instances where you expect your DoF to put his foot down and sell Aaron last window (and not extend his damn contract).

Well yeah in that instance, but he'd argue having a player under contract for 5 years meant you'd get a higher fee than if they had 3 years.

It is but it’s not linear. It’s basically not a factor until it is kind of a thing.

Ramsdale would have had 2 yrs in contract last summer (I think?) so it wouldn’t have been an impediment to selling him.

Hmm ok I still think there'd be an increase (albeit a smaller one) but IMO player quality is a much bigger driver of fee so its a moot point for me
