It doesn't really contradict Wheatley's story. He said they were in advanced talks, he never said they actually made a new bid.

It's pretty clear at that price Ramsdale is not being bought as simply backup, but as the long term solution at number 1, even if he doesn't start this year. I think they see the horizon of Leno's time here. If the opportunity arises to sell Leno, I think they will do it. Then we'll see a backup keeper bought.
