Reading this, doesn't sound like he's a player we should be going for in all honesty. Unless he becomes a ball-winner overnight on top of his technical ability.

After reading this, I'm more convinced that he could do a very good job here. It's like he is a younger version of Schneiderlin

Could do, indeed. But it would be another gamble in the line of potential Wenger gambles. It may intrigue a man like me, but I sympathise for all those who'll be tearing their hair out!

EDIT: His stats do make for interesting viewing, although we can't read too much into them:

Does look quite DM-ish, especially in his loan spell at Toulouse.

I wouldn't think that it isn't a big gamble if the player is highly rated. Look at Chambers. Looks like a great buy.

If we are not going to buy an established DM, then we should gamble on Rabiot. I would prefer him more compared to Carvalho.
- Small fee which leaves us to strength the CB position
- Can play as B2B
- Is more elegant and agile
- Better attacker

Am convinced it's not a DM we need as much as accomplished midfielder . Don't think we are good enough in posession when pressed .

celestis makes a good point. Wenger isn't going to get a traditional DM, look at Arteta but I,m hoping he sees the need for some size & athleticism in midfield. It goes without saying that any player he brings in must have good technique.

Not much like Schneiderlin, much more like Diaby but a better passer

It should be noted that in YouTube highlight reels of defensive midfielders, such players are always showed when attacking, thus giving the impression that they're more attack minded players.

Do we go for a more a accomplished technical player who can be a playmaker for deep similar to Pirlo and Arteta (but young and more atletic), or do we go for a more aggressive type (Carvalho)? Both could work, but the first is a bit weak defensively, asking more work from our brilliant B2B, but when keeping possession of the ball, having a half CB like Carvalho in central midfield can result in very sloppy passing.

Cavalho has excellent passing from what I've seen, short and long. We lack physicality, a powerful midfielder is needed. Rabiot fits that box while being technically very good albeit raw in some aspects. Like Khedira he likes to get forward and that would have to be reigned in a bit while partnering Ramsey. Too often the likes of Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla get pushed off the ball. That wouldn't happen to Khedira/Cavalho/Rabiot.

The stone that the builders refuse
Radio Monte Carlo is reporting that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The Gunners have so far recruited Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers, while they are reportedly closing in on Kostas Manolas.

According to Radio Monte Carlo, Arsenal are also set to sign French starlet Adrien Rabiot from PSG.

The same source has revealed that the player has been given permission to negotiate a deal with the Premier League side, which is enough to suggest the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee.

With his current deal due to expire at the end of the current campaign and the player refusing to sign a new contract, PSG had no choice but to cash in on one of their hottest prospects.

Adrien Rabiot, 19, has already made 31 league appearances for the Saints, while featuring in another 13 Ligue 1 games while on loan at Toulouse.

It makes sense, if Rabiot is leaving PSG because he isn't getting game time, where else would he go where he gets it while being at a top club? Chelsea? Good luck with that.

Nothing Wrong With Me
His agent is his Mum, she said in an article I read recently that playing time for her son is more important than money. Think that rules out Chelsea :) He's ours to lose, would love him here just to see what he develops into, could be a huge player for us for many years.

Opta Jean reports Rabiot won 37/40 tackles last season

Who is he going to get game time ahead of here though? Arteta? gradually maybe but outside of that he would only be a part of the current rotation.
