Del Perio?

Says in tribal football juventus offering him to us. he would be good addition to squad, then we can keep Reyes on left wing.

Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has been a long-term admirer of the Italian ace and sees Del Piero as a natural successor to Dennis Bergkamp.

what, as in the replacement oap of the team? that's the most rediculous thing i've ever read. we should **** juve and go for cassano ourselves.

Del piero is one of the my all time favourite players, but he has never been the same after that horrible injury. Before that he was the best player in the World and was head & shoulder above anyone. Time has passed, get salomon kalou instead.

So we lose an on-and-off, goalscoring, effective player who's occassionaly injured, for a finished player who's always out?

Great.

Ah Del Piero..

One of the most overrated players ever, even in his prime.

Had an awesome free kick though.

Maybe this should be in the jokes section

No seriously, we don't need him, maybe in his prime, but definitely not now.

Loads of talent, but very inconsistent and getting old. And a source not to be trusted.

Alessandro Del Piero is being linked with a move to Arsenal due to his frustration at his limited role at Juventus where he is seen as more of a substitute than a starter, despite his illustrious history.

This is the second established star we've been linked with, within days of each other. The first being Beckham. It suggests that the board is seriously considering an injection of experience and class into our squad, in time for the move to Emirates next season.

Obviously he wouldn't be that expensive and could be a great role model for some of the young talents coming through, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to a position where our most experienced player is set to retire at the end of the season.

Wouldn't be a bad deal in my opinion. Thoughts?
