We are going to make some money in next few years when Chelsea, United and City comes knocking for many of our youngsters.

Pffft. Offer to these clubs triple and then sell abroad if they're long.

That was some finish though, Welbeck would have missed, perhaps Giroud as well.

I was impressed with his finishes, including the disallowed goal. They were not as easy as they looked

He looks a more natural wide player than Gnabry or Akpom, and apparently he did very well at CF for the reserves/u21s when the latter was loaned out.

It also seems like the new batch of youngsters have more of a physical edge than previous ones, so maybe we're trying to address the problems we've had with our youth system over the last few years.

Headlined in the BBC's match report:

Alex Iwobi helps Arsenal clinch 6-0 friendly win over Lyon
Alex Iwobi scored his first goal for Arsenal as they continued their preparations for the new season with a 6-0 friendly win over Lyon.

The 19-year-old winger, who is the nephew of former Bolton forward Jay-Jay Okocha, capped an impressive first half with Arsenal's third goal.

How tall is Iwobi? He's a bit stocky which makes him look short, but next to Chuba they looked about the same height. The PL website which is not very reliable says 180cm.

Most of our youngsters would be lucky to make a career for themselves in the championship.

Odd he hasn't gone on loan yet. He's played enough U21 football IMO and he's 19 already. He's a very intelligent player and one who can stake a claim, but he has literally no competitive experience [in 1st team football]. He should have been one of the first names to go on loan, even though he impressed greatly in pre-season.

It's easy to see why Wenger likes him though, he plays like a wide man but has the intelligence of a playmaker. Knows when to stick wide or cut in, and plays for the team. Good all-round attacker and a good dribbler. Odds are not in his favor in terms of making it, but he has the skillset. I would rather see him on loan though to prove himself. Maybe hasn't found the right club - all our loans so far look to be good ones (not sure on Gnabry @ West Brom yet, they look a poor side going forward)
