I'm unaware of the legitimacy of the French source but it seems we're taking 26 year old Alharbi El Jadeyaoui on trial.

The source i found it from offers some details on two other trialists too:
<a class="postlink" href="http://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2013/08/06/colombian-midfielder-perez-seeking-to-impress-during-arsenal-trial/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2013/ ... nal-trial/</a>

... two days of training by 26 year old Moroccan midfielder Alharbi El Jadeyaoui, who plays for French second division side Angers.

French League 2 player, 26, on trial? You can't make this up... :(
Maybe he'll be the next Koscielny so who knows.

Don't worry, guys. He may be better than we are expecting. I mean, he had a trial with Blackburn in 2009. They didn't sign him up... But he has experience with the English game? And he's 26, so he's experienced. And he...

I give up.

Wenger just throwing up smokescreens. All this tells me they are working on something they don't want the press to to know and taking the piss at the same time

what's with all these unknowns? seems more than any other summer. perhaps we'd been investing seriously in our scouting networks the last few years, and finally paying off? if we can't be united, at least could do a dortmund and find the next gundogan/lewandowski.

I'm always a fan of going after promising unknowns, but we're never going to find the next Gundogan/Lewandowski in a 26-year old playing in Ligue 2 who was passed up by Blackburn Rovers. Those two were scouted when they were 18/19.

exactly. big difference between this guy and the colombian midfielder who is 18. not every signing needs to be a big name.

but we need established quality as well as depth

Yep, agree (although I believe Perez is 20, not 18) .

fine, next koscielny. point stands?

At least Koscielny was 24 and playing in the top flight. This dude is turing 27 in two days and still playing in the second division.

well, now that you put it that way, seems a bit too far  what ARE we smoking at the emirates? maybe these journos just get their names mixed, it could be that we were watching a younger player at schalke, but they assume it must be marica because arsenal are looking for a striker.

or wenger is just trolling
