Rio Mavuba won't come cheap, as Bordeaux is already qualified to the UCL group stage after finishing 2nd last season, he and Chamakh are considered as indispensable for the team, and Rio already being touted as the perfect replacement for the aging Makalele, so he won't be playing 2nd fiddle to anyone at this moment of time.
So, safe to say, Rio Mavuba won't be coming to Arsenal anytime soon.

Maybe we can open or re-open that Rio Mavuba thread and close this baby down now that Alou Diarra is very much a Lyon player. Would have been a great backup and combatitve presence in a 5 man midfield though. Adieu Alou.

At this point, we have a much better chance of signing Hargreaves than Alou Diarra considering Alou has alredy signed with and played for Lyon, so why is this one open, while the Hargreaves thread is locked?
