So this is the bracket after the seeding tournament and will show you what your potential path to the final looks like. Important to remember that no matter how good or bad your first stage was none of that matters and the game starts now.

It's mathematically how the ranking works. If the higher seed wins each of the last 16 games the winner of that game would be the lowest seed hence why they're drawn against you.

There's no drawing involved.

Spoiler: CLRNC WANDERERS VS JMB CITY

The opening match of the knockout phase sees Clrnc Wanderers take on JMB City. The buildup has been dominated by Clrnc’s insistence that he’s the best team despite his failure to finish in top spot. JMB, on the other hand, has spent time in the void as questions over his future continue to linger:


JMB is adamant that he will not quit but that may not be up to him…

The teams make their way out as they line up like this:




The game starts with JMB City dominating possession early as they look to quiet the crowd down. The recycle possession and soon as the ball reaches Thiago Silva, Baggio goes steaming in with a challenge:



An early yellow for Baggio as the Brazilian felt the full force of that tackle.

Clrnc Wanderers seem encouraged by the reaction to the challenge and continue with their physical approach for the rest of the half. No real chances on either side as JMB’s momentum is halted by persistent fouling by the other side. The referee has finally had enough and soon after Bale joins Baggio in the book:


City begin to get frustrated at being stifled and Ze Roberto scythes down Bale in retaliation…



The first half ends with more yellow cards than shots on target.

Sensing the need for change, JMB sends on Gattuso and Henrik Larsson in what could be his final 45 minutes as manager. The changes bring some energy to the team but still, openings are hard to come by. They are limited to shots from distance but have yet to force a save out of Courtois.

Both teams start to make more attacking changes as the managers realise one goal either way could decide it. Suddenly, Kaka receives the ball in space and drives at the Wanderers’ back line. He drops a shoulder and opens up space for the shot…



Stunning save!! Courtois gets his fingertips to the ball and pushes it over the post!! JMB jumped out of his seat to celebrate but has to sit back down as the home crowd serenades him with chants of “banned in the morning, you’re getting banned in the morning”.

The moment of magic of Kaka seems to have opened the game up as Clrnc Wanderers pushes forward themselves. The ball finds Dani Alves on the wing and he squares up his opponent, before playing a slick 1-2 with the recently subbed on Romario. The ball comes back to the fullback and he looks to catch Kahn out at the near post…



The gormless German is equal to it!! Alves thought he had won it!!

City turn to Kaka for a moment of brilliance as the ball continues to find him. He holds off a challenge from Keane and shifts the ball onto his left foot before the sliding the ball through…



Ze Roberto scores!!! 1-0 to JMB City through the unlikeliest of scorers as he dinks the ball past an onrushing Courtois!!! Clrnc cannot believe it as there are muted celebrations from JMB:



With time running out, Clrnc Wanderers push forward desperately searching for an equaliser. Romario gets the ball and looks to advance before being hacked down on the edge of the box. Perfect position for a free kick with one of the best standing over it…

Off the wall and out for a corner as the seconds continue to wind down…corner comes in and is initially cleared before finding Totti on the edge of the box…



He smashes it first time…



Kahn saves it again!!! Totti slumps to his knees as he’s denied an equaliser right at the death!!

JMB survives and sets up a tantalising quarter-final against albakos. He looks positively delighted post match:
