The big final has arrived. A draft full of banter, loops and ban threats culminates in a match between two of the most experienced drafters in the game. There's great respect between the two managers, however that hasn't extended to both sets of fans...

Shocking scenes of violence outside the ground as the police escort fails to keep the JMB City supporters safe from the Gagan devotees.

Fans scatter all over the concourse as the trouble spreads throughout Wembley and the A-M authorities fail to get a grip of the situation.

Our reporters caught up with Sanchez11 outside the ground to find out exactly what happened:

The police storm Wembley Way trying to restore order but it's proving difficult. It's left fans and pundits alike confused...

JMB was unavailable for comment amidst rumours that he has barricaded himself and his players inside the dressing room, however GDeep was unrepentant when asked why his fans enjoy inflicting physical violence on others:

The carnage outside the ground has meant that fans have been delayed getting through the turnstyles...

The scenes have calmed down outside and after Commissioner Rex's announcement, the game will finally begin....

Great respect between the two managers before kick-off:

1770508020578.png

The game kicks off with a strange atmosphere as the players and fans try to focus after delay. JMB City get the ball forward and look to capitalise on the narrow formation used by the opposition...Kroos shapes to shoot to test the keeper early but thinks better of it when Sagnol comes to close him down, leaving space in behind...the German slides a ball through for his teammate who runs onto it and rounds the keeper...

Ze Roberto rolls the ball into an empty net to make it 1-0 to JMB City!! An early goal for the home side!!

JMB is loving it:
MefADA0J4MwNl4cNN-LQ3Uw2T8YvJXTDobArViYUe44.gif

GDeep on the otherhand can't believe his side have conceded so early:
1770504229560.png

The goal gives City and the home crowd a lift as they continue to dominate the early proceedings. They don't create any clear cut chances the but the entire game is being played in Rovers' half. The away side can't find a way out as every clearance just comes straight back at them. Ronaldinho looks to inject some tempo into the attack and goes on a run towards the box, but gets crowded out by the Rovers backline. The ball ricochets to Ze Roberto who fires at goal...

1770506950368.png

His shot just loops over the goal!! All these world class attackers on the pitch and it's the left back who's at the heart of everything going forward!! Is JMB Mikel Arteta in disguise?

GDeep gets as close to the touchline as he can and barks instructions at his players to get them going having been dominated for the opening 20 minutes. It seems to have the desired effect on the team as Rovers start to get a foothold in the game. They're limited to shots from distance that rarely trouble the keeper but it gives their defence some respite after being bombarded early on.

Rovers continue to work the ball from side to side before it finally reaches Bergkamp in the centre of the pitch. He drops a shoulder to get away from his marker before Thiago Silva comes steaming in...

1770509561566.png

A booking for the Brazilian as he leaves Bergkamp in a heap!! The resulting free kick comes to nothing but Rovers are beginning to stamp their authority on the game after a slow start.

They get a set piece opportunity after Ronaldo wins a corner and they immediately crowd the keeper while waiting for the ball to come in. The referee warns the offending players not to cross the line, causing a delay before the ball can be delivered. Once the whistle finally goes, Pirlo whips in a vicious inswinger...

1770507808090.png

Nesta rises high to power the ball into the net to make it 1-1!!! GDeep Rovers are level after the Italians combine to produce a set piece of the highest quality!! Game on again.

The game starts to settle down as we head towards half-time as both managers look to make sure they don't concede again before the break. Two minutes of injury time doesn't result in any more goals and we head into the dressing rooms level at one apiece, with everything to play for in the second half.

No changes for either side at half time, and for the record it was the usual 15 minute break despite the rumours of a Super Bowl style performance from Lupe Fiasco which seems to have been a rumour designed to rattle JMB. The intensity has been ramped up as both sides start getting stuck in and the game becomes a physical encounter with constant fouls. The stop-start nature of the game leads to frustration from the players and it's not long before Owen Hargreaves talks himself into a booking...

1770509848563.png

The referee's decision has clearly irked GDeep who lets the fourth official know of his displeasure:
1770509909380.png

Lip readers watching on may have noticed the Brummie telling him "this might be it for me".

As the second half wears on, both teams begin to make changes as they look to find the winning goal. In doing so, the game becomes stretched and what was once a tactical battle starts to resemble more of an end to end affair. GDeep Rovers look to take advantage of the space they're now being given and break forward quickly. Ronaldo gets the ball on the left wing and tries to twist and turn his defender, but instead of trying to advance the ball further into the box he looks up and plays a square ball to a nearby teammate...

1770510102232.png
Lampard fires a thunderous shot at goal....

1770510163981.png

...but Kahn gets a good hand to it!! He didn't know much about it but still manages to direct the shot away from goal, before it's cleared by the defence!! The first real instance of either goalkeeper being called into action in the second half!!

Undeterred, JMB City come back straight down the other end and respond with an attack of their own. The ball comes to Kaka, who tries to get into the game despite having a quiet one so far. He holds off Hargreaves before driving forward towards the Rovers goal. His path into the area is blocked so he stops on a dime, turns and nutmegs the nearest defender before swivelling to take a shot of his own...

1770510396889.png

Kaka unleashes a brilliant strike using the defender to block the keeper's vision...

1770510455291.png

OFF THE CROSSBAR!!! Barthez could only stand rooted to the spot and watch as the ball sailed towards the goal, but unfortunately for JMB CIty it needed to be a few inches lower!!! Agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock!!

The Brazilians on both sides are beginning to grow in influence and Rovers get the ball to Ronaldo Nazario, hoping he can find a moment of magic to win the game. He goes on a mazy run before being hacked down by a defender, but takes a quick free kick to keep the game flowing. The ball finds its way back to him and he goes for a shot without hesitation...

1770510720539.png

It stings the palms of Kahn, who spills the shot into the area before an onrushing Ronaldo clatters into him...

1770510850742.png

It's called a foul as Kahn just managed to grab the ball with both hands before the Rovers #9 smashed into him. A nice display of sportsmanship as he helps the German keeper to his feet after a physically bruising challenge, although it's not appreciated by everyone in the ground as GDeep shouts "he's not gonna shag you mate"

1770510967000.png

Both sets of players take a look at the clock in the stadium as they know time is winding down. With both teams starting to tire after a long tournament, neither is thrilled at the possibility of another 30. This time it's JMB City's turn to attack and they get the ball forward quickly, with Adriano looking to work over the centre backs who have dropped physically after battling him all game. He holds off Nesta and manages to turn goalside, before deciding to have a go...

1770511262361.png

A typical Adriano shot that was struck with tons of power...

1770511302810.png

...yet Barthez gets across to make the save!!! A brilliant stop when it looked destined for the net!!! Not bad for a bald midget as some in this draft have described him!!

The two teams make their final subs with just minutes left to go and the managers desperate to find a winning goal as soon as possible. GDeep Rovers have a free kick inside their own half which they take quickly, getting the ball up the pitch at pace. They work the ball through midfield, but can't find a way through. Eventually it finds its way back to Pirlo, who gets up to survey his options. Sonny Anderson makes a great run down the wing looking for the ball, but the Italian decides against it when he sees another pass on down the middle...he plays it down the inside of the full back where it's met by Ronaldo running onto it...

1770511712635.png

He gets a good contact on it, and places it away from the defender rushing to block it...

1770511756289.png

GOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!! Ronaldo's shot nestles in the corner past the despairing dive of Kahn and he wheels off in celebration!!! 2-1 to GDeep Rovers right as the fourth official held up the board with 6 minutes!!! The worst time to concede for JMB City as the home crowd are shell shocked and silent!!

With barely any time left to build patiently, City decide to pump the ball into the final third in the hopes of creating one last chance. Rather than look for a teammate Ronaldinho decides to lash the ball at goal...

1770511957844.png

It just flashes wide!!! Barthez was scrambling across his goal and was relieved to see it whizz past the post!! He takes his time with the goal kick and the referee runs down to book him for time wasting!!

1770512035305.png

With Rovers in defensive mode, the goal kick goes straight to JMB City and once again the look to get forward quickly with the seconds ticking away. The manager's favourite, Juan Mata, gets the ball in a wide position and plays a give and go with Modric before getting the ball back. In a perfect position on the right side of the area, he takes a touch that opens up the shot...

1770512220685.png

It's struck well and on target....

1770512144036.png

Barthez saves it on the line, but did it go over?!?! The JMB City players are protesting with the referee and the linesman, but there's no goal signal!! They're adamant that the ball went over, but because A-M cannot afford VAR or goal-line technology the score remains 2-1!!

Barthez again pushes the limits of time wasting, but by the time he boots the ball up the pitch the whistle goes...

JMB City 1-2 GDeep Rovers

Wild celebrations from the away side as they triumph in what could be their manager's final appearance. Disappointment for the home side, but they can be proud of making the final after nearly being thrown out of the competition during the draft.

Rex Blatter comes out for the post match presentations to defeaning boos:

JMB makes the painful walk past the trophy to collect his runners-up medal:

Contrasting emotions for GDeep who has overcome several draft failures over the years to finally win some silverware:

Missed a golden chance to tag @Riou here

As always, brilliant commentary @A_G, though you did an innocuous spoiler with the lineups as the goals icons tell of a final score with goalscorers seen

Also, congrats to @GDeep™ a new title is now applied :)

Yeah, I have no idea why that happened. It never used to have that info on the stimulator lineup graphic.

BTW his tag says World Cup Draft even tho this one wasn’t. 👀

Been busy so just now got to sit down to read this. Congrats to @GDeep™ on his remarkable win, saving us from a Manc walking around like he owns the place (he will do this anyway, but now with a shred less arrogance).

Wonderful write-up from @A_G and lovely constraint from @Rex Caudillo who I am sure was gnashing his teeth trying to find a way to the winner's podium with his partner in crime.

Fun draft - I am looking forward to the next one!
