Double pivot with them both being enforcers behind Ødegaard I could really go for that you know

I'd imagine Arsenal would want to aim higher though (I say this without watching him that closely this season)
Tets is obsessed with control, would be boring as fvck tbh.

People underestimated Rice's technical ability just like they're doing with Onana. But I don't know how you can look at the rubbish we saw at the left 8 and think Onana is the answer. If you want Onana and Rice in midfield, then a profile like Zinchenko becomes an integral part of the system.

Maybe Arteta has adopted this fetish for physical midfielders through years of trauma. It's like he living vicariously through big-body midfielders to compensate for the torrid time he suffered on away days.

Wenger went too woke and signed midget vegans, whereas Arteta went all Nigel Farage. It is a fetish at this point. Arteta is moving like Purple Akhi, and I bet you Arteta was in the doctor’s office feeling Rice’s biceps during his medical.

Wenger was traumatised by Spanish teams playing around us, look at Deportivo in 2002 for example. Wenger in general struggled against Spanish teams unfortunately. Arteta shouldn't go to the other extreme end of forgoing technical proficiency of the ball, otherwise we'll get more Porto/Bayern away type games of the midfield being ineffective and attack disconnected.

Midget vegans or Don Farridge? It's our man from Farnborough every time.

ALLOW IT MAN, not you as well ffs.

We need a first team MF and Onana ain’t it. He doesn’t have a complete enough skill set. He can be backup but then we still need a first team MF. If we can do both, fine. Otherwise… allow it. Man…

No doubt he’s interesting but too many of his strengths are similar to Rice. He looks a bit better with his back to the opposition but it’s not enough to justify him and Rice together.

If there’s no suitable options out there I’ll take him. But it’s gonna have to be a Vincent Kompany to Bayern or Postecoglou to Sp**s type scenario, 5 or 6 players down the list of options.

We were crying for a player like Onana for a decade under Wenger.

Onana will be good signing. Good backup for Rice. They can probably play together too although it wont be pretty but will get the job done in majority of cases.

Ideally we want some who can thread the needle but I think that will come to if we are lucky with some young player. Hard to see which top player we could sign in that position.

Athletic did say we were looking at Rice at 6 or 8 and if we sign Onana it’s clear Rice would be the 8.

We’d need an elite playmaker signed in attacking areas to compliment this.

Even if we intend Rice to play 8 this isn’t the right profile. We should be signing a regista/DLP as the profile.

Arsenal Quotes

Robert Pirès was a fabulous player, world-class, and for a few years, before his injury, he was unquestionably the best left-midfielder in the world by far. He had incredible technique, he was smart, a finisher. He was a killer with a smile, the gentlest man in the world who suddenly drive the ball exactly where it was needed.
