If the dictator memes were true he could have dug his heels in last summer and made a fuss over Sesko. Instead he accepted Berta's cheaper/easier deal to do target and got rewarded with Donkeyeres. He could also have rang up Josh this summer and said "if you let Rogers go to Chelsea I'm not signing that renewal" and probably forced a deal to get done...instead he accepted that Villa's valuation didn't match the clubs and watched a player he was reportedly crazy about go to a rival instead. The theory around MLS now is that we were close to spending limits in the market, thanks to how bad we have been at selling players over many years. If Vinicius was going to happen, we had to make a bigger sale and selling MLS was considered an option. But neither materialised.

Paying over 100m for Rogers is mental illness so thankfully Berta intervened. Mik was placated by the fact that we pursued Vini and Alvarez afterward.

Remember, Edu and Vinai fired our scouts and replaced them with StatsDNS crap scouting. I think Mikel should take some blame because of his "PL proven" / "there are only a few players that can improve us" fetish but he's been pretty clear since that Bayern CL game that we've needed to raise the level in attack and we've had 3 summer windows since then and haven't added one level raiser.

Most of the blame has to be with the SD / upstairs.

He was brought to provide a win now mentality, he succeeded. We won.

With Bruno here, we don't really need MLS. His fall on his butt everytime he gets touched trick will stop being an asset the moment he stops looking like a kid and after that top level is over for him, so selling makes a lot of sense. Winning now also means get the money while the player is rated before Arteta freezes him out again.

His crime is not signing another attacker, but when Arteta looks like he'd pay Gyokeres to leave is understandable why he didn't bother. The way I see it he decided to take a bullet instead of bringing more Chelsea dross like Arteta would have wanted, and that only deserves more praise really.

Here's hoping that just like he solved the win the league despite Arteta issue, he can solve the Arteta issue altogether.

He's one of the most respected DOFs in football. You think the club and the manager handpicked someone with a bad reputation? This narrative you're trying to construct where the club are somehow victims of Berta falls apart pretty quickly if you're going to claim he had a poor reputation and they hired him anyway. Like I probably wouldn't hire Michael Jackson's doctor.

I would also think that anyone with basic common sense would consider that we've won the title once in 22 years and that was immediately after Berta joined. KSE and Arteta have zero league titles without Berta. Berta has won things without them. It's a good idea to think about what we're saying rather than just spew nonsense.

Im not gonna go around pointing the finger at people, but this definitely doesn't look good for the decision makers involved. However, the managers job and reputation is entirely built on getting results. Not getting players, not balancing a ****ing bottom line, getting wins. If we go by that, then Arteta gets the least amount of blame in the pie chart imo. He did his job last season, won THE price that we've been after for the past 22 years. He's been doing a damn good job for the past 5 years as well, just fell short at critical times, and we've all agreed that this was his final chance and he delivered. Berta did a solid job last season as well, though maybe I would say the pieces he delivered maybe weren't as impressive as we once thought they might be. Maybe Arteta is to blame for that as well, though I'd say there aren't many teams that could make a forward line of Madueke and Gyokeres work very well at the highest level tbh.

I think we also should exercise some patience tbh. Yes they've not done what they needed to this summer, but maybe there's a plan for the next transfer window or the summer. I think the club have earned our trust and patience to some degree, if just for a bit longer. Im ready to go all in for the season now. Enough of this shiny toy bullshit.
