We still haven't brought anyone?
Man Utd bought Tielemans, he was at WC until 2 days ago, it didn't stop United.

Rice, Saka and Saliba will not play for Arsenal before first international break (it starts the 21st of Seprember) because they need at least 2 months rest.
What are we waiting for?

We need a new CM in with a good pre season. Such as Bruno.

We need to rest Rice heavily and the stand in needs time to be prepared to step in properly.

I don’t think they would throw 50 million down the drain to get one over Barca. But most importantly it’s beyond irresponsible to spend so much on a player who don’t want to come to you and he’s heart is not in it

Would be another Di Maria who was forced on United when he wanted PSG.
Yeah if he dont want to come here just leave it.

Hincapie and Meslier are Arsenal signings number 1 and 2 of the transfer window?

I have it on good authority that Mikel Arteta is growing impatient with the lack of progress in the transfer market.

Understandably no? We should be aiming to win the trophy back to back but it seems our injuries issue of last two seasons will follow us into the next also and imo only a good transfer window can help with that.

But also Arteta is a transfer junkie. Textbook cheque manager.

No amount of hate towards Madrid/Barça will get them to sell to us for 100m euro. They already have the 150m euro offer on the table from both Spanish teams.

*IF* he moves to us, it will be for around the same value.
It'll be crazy spending 150M on this guy even if I really his all round style but bro will have same goal output as gyo maybe few goals more if I spend 150M im expecting 30 league goals lol

What do you guys think are the chances Arteta wants to use Alvarez on the LW if we sign him? 🤔

At what point do we start getting concerned about the lack of news? We haven’t even made a bid for anyone yet.
In before people telling us how much of the transfer window we have left, even though it ignores the fact that having players ready for a full pre season is important.

We may start the first 4-5 games of the season without Saka and Rice. We need to bring in quality who will be 100% ready on that first PL game.

We can’t do this last minute reactionary crap we used to do under Gazidis which has carried through to even today.

Last summer we signed Gyokeres Eze Hincapie really late into the window IIRC.

I remember doing the same thing last season when there wasn’t even a World Cup going on, and then we suddenly signed one player after the other. I expect the activity to fully ramp up next week

The club is obsessed with value for money, but in the wrong way.

It's why we rather pay a bit less and not have players in for pre season under the context you've described.

Coming from a position of strength for Arsenal likely means "we get to save money" and not "we get to be ready before everyone ".

I'd be more worried if the players had already been back training for a while. I think things will start to move now pre-season starts. Most of the players we are targeting won't even join up with the squad for at least another 2 or 3 weeks anyway.

Think Gyok was signed mid July (around about now).
