Feel like he’s become the kind of player lots of people mention but have never seen him play.

Is he good? Is he still as hyped as when his name first started getting mentioned?

I want to avoid spending £15-20m on another Lokonga.
Fofana. Recall he was a great midfielder here, but talk to any AC Milan fan and they all tell you how crap he is

Defo getting a young cm/dm in Jan. Rice and Zubi played over 1600 mins so far ffs.
I think they would play those minutes regardless of who we have in reserve. Arteta will not rotate those positions, Merino has shown his value many times over, eze and havertz may feature in the 8 when less injury concerns.

Nørgaard is a decent level back up who will settle to be on the bench. Will be hard to find someone who will be an improvement on him happy with that role.

I still think no incomings until the summer unless long term injuries...mls may also be given chances late in the season to determine if he is that back up option himself.

If Rice and Zubi are not injured they will play. Its pretty much what has happened so far this season when there have been games/minutes in games that are less important than what will be coming up in the CL knockout and PL (if we are competing).

Its a problem that Arteta feels (correctly) that the drop off between Zubi/Rice, and Rice/anyone or Zubi/anyone is such a large chasm.

Rice/Zubi won't be able to keep up with the number of high intensity and high pressure matches coming up in the 2nd half of season. Its a real worry and I don't think anyone we are looking at in the transfer market in January is likely to address it.

The drop-off in quality is inevitable when you have world-class players in your team. The key is to have those players ready for the important matches, and to use the substitutes like Nørgaard, Merino, Eze and Havertz to mitigate the drop-off in quality when facing inferior low-block teams. There are no one-to-one replacements in the world who can match what they bring.

Videos can be deceiving but Toni Fruk does look comfortable on either foot, which can be a big advantage to go with the rest of his perceived skills.

especially arteta did not trust Nørgaard, its clear we will buy another cm/dm in january
Which will mean we will buy his replacement in the summer. You not gonna get the midfielder you want in January

We need the 2 in Rice & Zubi together for the big games of the season, thats for sure, however 1 way to do that is by subbing them off. Get a 2/3-0 lead with 20 minutes left, no need to keep them going for the final 20 minutes every game playing all 90 every game. Arteta has to start realising that. Will give Nørgaard chances for game time & combos with players, MLS can play in CM aswell.

Worst thing we need now is for Rice &/or Zubi to get a month-2 injury 5 minutes remaining especially when being up 3-0, he'd look silly then & be sorry.

Arsenal Quotes

When I am asked why I stayed at Arsenal so long.. my answer is simple; I never wanted to be anywhere else. I could have earned a lot more elsewhere, but that wouldn't compensate for all the good years at Highbury.
