Andrea Berta’s Transfer Targets: January 2027

Going to chase Rodrygo on loan all month only to for him to come out and fight for his place.

He will have 18 months left on his contract in January so Madrid will probably look to move him on/force him out the door within the next 12 months. I doubt anyone will try and buy him in January because he will only just be back from the ACL injury.

It might be in Madrid's interest to loan him out and get him in the shop window before the summer but i'm not really sure where our interest stands after last summer.

i predict Endrick to be Arsenal in first week of january window on loan. if we don't have some big injures and our attack did do well so i expect us do nothing.

but overall there won't be players available in this window i only predicting the likes of Endrick because of his lack game time at Madrid when January comes and he'll be asking to leave on loan.

I think Endrick and possibly Rodrygo might be 2 who might be available, for the reason you say about Endrick, and because Madrid might be happy letting Rodrygo leave to build up his fitness after just returning from an ACL.

Whether we want to be the team to see him through that phase, I'm not sure.

Edit: Rodrygo just started jogging out on the grass last week, so not even sure he'd be ready for games in January time.

Rodrygo won't be needed unless he really in top condition he been 12 months without football however Endrick will be hungry to prove a point about why real madrid not using him even tho it's clear why they not using him and he should have left in summer

James Benge said the people in the club who were against the Fofana signing sighted Viera as the example. You think you're getting someone for cheap, but if they don't kick on you end up stuck with them and can't offload them for 4/5 years etc.

I think overall I agree with that sentiment. The issue wasn't not signing Fofana, it was even getting to that stage in the first place where we competing with Sunderland for, with all due respect, the scraps of the market.

Endrick won't be available, he has a contract until 2030, they won't let him go unless you go 100m plus

They will want to sell either or both of Rodrygo 18 months on deal and Brahim Diaz, 6 months on deal

Rodrygo you could only commit to loan with option to buy because of doubts over his knee. Brahim Diaz would be 30-40m or less and hugely talented that can play across either wing.

Suffering from Arteta’s success.

But we just spent an entire transfer window doing the opposite of this

Think it was way over reported compared to the reality. It turns out we didn't even bid.

This summer exposed the ITKs more than usual I think. Even Gunnerblog who I consider one of the club's mouthpieces is all over the place.

I like to think Kroupi would have been a target in the summer if it wasn’t for his injury. The problem is, where have we set our price ceiling? He had a great season but he’s also a good example of price increasing while not playing. How high will we go? To get him in Jan might mean paying even more.

I thought struggled was being kind (ignore the dubbing)

Not sure why you keep posting this video of him unfairly, given that he was out injured for 3-4 weeks before that and was only back in training the day before this match and was completely not match fit ready.

Still came on in the 2nd half and was pretty influential in their goals, winning one penalty too.

Just shows how bad our sales has been

Last 5 years ...

We just started our rebuild back then. Look to 10 years, it will give another view. Or look last 3 years, it will again give you a different view.

For example with Liverpool, they bought Van Dijk, Alison, Salah, ... all before 2020. They kept the core together for a long time.

We on the other hand changed all players with Arteta. Come next year, we may only need a LW and a striker. Besides the way to look at it is net spend in percentage of total revenue or net spend vs value of the squad. Tells you much more how well a team is doing.

Why? He only got injured mid summer and we’
showed no interest in him to that point.
