This Kroupi BS has to stop. AM had turned him into an 18 year old Anelka or R9.

It’s only on AM. Nobody else anywhere speaks about Kroupi like we do.

He needs another season of marination.

14 PL goals at his age in his debut season is no joke, but this price he was going to cost would have been crazy.

He looks a talent but let’s see if he can put up those numbers again

Tbf he is almost comparable to Anelka. I know attacking players just aren’t the same these days but for modern standards the guy broke the record for most goals as a teenager in the PL.

I agree though it feels so weird paying £100m+ for a teenager who’s had one good season here but that’s how crazy the market is.

If he returns from injury and continues playing well I’d have him up there as a preferred choice in Jan (I know) and Summer.

He could end up being one of the next world class attackers. If we aren’t going to attract the finished products because of the Madrid/Barca pull in a crap market, then let’s get the next big thing, take a bit of a gamble. After 18-24 months in the PL we will have more context.

Kroupi has better goals per minute every 129 mins than Anelka did in his last Arsenal season - a goal every 165 mins. He's the record high goalscorer for a teenager in their debut season. He's done that in a more competitive PL in a worse team and creates his own goals. More time is probably needed to prove it isn't a 1 off

Also, all the big teams fans are wishlisting Kroupi

Regardless of needing another season we should make a move for Kroupi in January - if he comes back and starts firing until the end of the season clubs like City, Barca, Bayern etc will likely be in for him in the summer
Take a chance on him

Yeh I don’t agree with @GDeep™ regarding it only being Arsenal fans who really like him. Kroupi is that kind of player that all top team fans are excited by. Young, talented, had a top season. Everyone are hyped by him right now and because of his age profile and the fact that you don’t have to give him a starting spot right away like a big 28 year old signing, there’s space in almost everyone’s squad for him.

Arsenal fans have a somewhat bigger affinity with him on the basis that he won us the league vs City for sure. That would be poetic if he joined us, and the French connection also helps. I’ve not exactly been excited by our previous 14s (Theo, Nketiah, Gyokeres). Kroupi would be an exciting player to give the number 14 to.

Can someone explain to me why people say net spend is irrelevant? It's a business after all, and would impact ability to make future transfers (as we have just seen), and position on PSR.

Our ability to sell has been extremely woeful.
Because they think the owners will magically solve everything by putting in money at a whim. Otherwise we should boycott the owners and the club for not spending money. It's an infantile attitude imo and that's why I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out what our war chest is in the Financials thread. Short answer is 150-175mm per season, and if we want to make a massive signing on top of that like Vini or Alvare, we can if we take up our leverage (currently at 2.5x).

Of course we want to be able to generate income through sales and that is something we should aim for but our club is in a healthy financial position and has been for as long as we remember.

With that said it doesnt really matter where the money for transfer comes from. Thats why many look at total spend instead of netspend.

Because we went over a decade without investing anything in our club. And more reasons buying junk players pre Arteta. So we had no players to sell when Arteta took over

You can't sell if you don't have anything to sell. City and Chelsea have so much to sell because of prior investments coming good

If that was the case surely we wouldn't have needed to loan Raya and Hincapie in those respective seasons to keep in line with PSR?

Also, the huge push for sales this summer did impact our spending, so we must have needed to generate some income through our sales

To be fair I don't think its fair to compare to City or Chelsea, you cant trust oil and state run clubs, they have dodgy dealings all over the place. There are billions upon billions of pounds in English football and the regulation for the sport is still extremely amateur.

A more fair comparison would be Liverpool, who have done pretty well on sales for a while now, even on average players.

It's still not though. No other top club went for over a decade with sub zero net spend. All of our financial assets were stripped, with our best players being sold every season to keep affloat.

Even if you look at the Suarez sale, they could only get that money because they sold Torres for huge money, and they could only sell him because they invested in him and countless other players when we had a net surplus.

You have to ask why Kroenke did this to us? Was it just to push Usmanov out so he couldn't profit from any investment? Or are they just that stingey? There was the stadium issue, but Sp**s have essentially agreed not to pay any of the capital off on their stadium, freeing up spending limits

Again read my comment. Yes our selling is bad and we have to do some good accounting but the club is run very well financially.

Arsenal Quotes

Everybody knows how much I love Arsenal - I became a fan. And to be out here [in front of the Emirates as a statue] celebrating a goal against Sp*rs, there's not much else to say after that. Like I've said before: Once a Gooner, always a Gooner.
