lol the defense, the transition.

never cut the transition off, no one blocking the gram star pass.

the last defender going to the floor instead of waitin for action (GK is there)

the Bundesliga is sad.

I hear what you’re saying but consider this:

1) Salah was a lucky gamble. The fact that they’ve signed Diaz/Gakpo/Nunez/Jota since for more money but aren’t good enough to lace his boots is kind of testament to that (Mane was elite though tbf and it would be remiss of me to not mention him just coz you didn’t )

2) Where Liverpool was when they signed Salah cannot be compared to where we are today, in terms of expectation, revenue and performance levels. The two seasons prior to his transfer Liverpool got 60 (8th) and then 73 points (4th). If the gamble failed no one would have batted an eyelid. There was no expectation of a title challenge.

Arsenal are a big club with enormous revenues and we have been challenging for the title for multiple consecutive seasons. I agree £130m is a bit too much tbf, but if we fans manage to convince ourselves that we shouldn’t be spending big on an elite goal scorer then it’s over before it’s even begun.

Don’t sell yourselves short.
It's been reported Klopp didn't even want Salah at the time. Salah was forced on him by the football people.

Huge error in the summer to persist with someone who hasn’t ever scored 15 goals in the PL season during his 9 years in England and a purple patch player who’s very streaky.

It's wild that highly paid professionals within the football industry got sold by half a season of great form from Havertz. Like it's one thing for a bvm like me to be hoodwinked like that but for analysts who have been in the game for years + coaching staff...come on guys

I doubt they were fooled really, Edu played with Thierry Henry and R9 ffs...no chance he thought Havertz was a top striker lol.

Arteta just probably did this to anyone who ever questioned Havertz at Arsenal...

...and they got bored of trying to argue with him.

Hmmmmm idk, I recall seeing some Athletic pieces basically saying that Havertz' form in the back end of last season was one of the driving factors keeping him at CF and likely that led to us spending money in other areas rather than attack.

Unpopular opinion, one of the problems City is having is Erling, yes he can score, but having a number 9 that touches 6 balls in 90 minutes is a luxury you cant have in the modern game, The frustration you see in players like Bernardo and Kovacic, Is not only becuse their window was very poor (Doku and Savinho are not elite) it is also because the entire teams needed to accomodate to the big boy upfront. When you are a technically gifted player, that likes to play with technically gifted players, having someone like Haaland upfront frustrates you.

HE is still world class, dont get me wrong, he is just in the wrong club. Should be playing at Madrid or in some Italian club.

I don't know about this, I watched City closely when they played us and their players were happy to just pass the ball around in a horse shoe when they could have been whipping dangerous crosses to Haaland. Like if Haaland was playing for us, Saka would be spamming crosses to this dude. Maybe Pep doesn't trust his wingers to deliver dangerous crosses or it's more ideological, not sure but they are not playing in a way that maximizes Haaland's strengths imo.

Sesko
Nico
Zubimendi
Nypan
Joan Garcia
Hato

Isak
Zubimendi
Nypan
Joan Garcia
Hato

Raya, Joan Garcia
White, Timber, Tomi, Saliba
Gabriel, Calafiori, MLS, Hato
Zubimendi, Rice, Merino
Ødegaard, Nypan, Nwaneri
Saka, Jesus, Havertz, Sesko, Nico, Martinelli, Trossard

Not sure about anyone else but I still don't see much star quality in this which is a list of our main targets (if we can't get Isak)

Nypan, Joan, Zubimendi and a defender would cost roughly £80M.
