Yeah I think we will give one a new contract and sell the other.

Both are going to be demanding close to £300k a week, club probably feels they can get Huijsen in for £50M on a third of the wages and the overall quality doesn't really drop.

Huijsen + Isak improves us dramatically Vs Saliba and say Gyokeres.
You’re having a laugh if you think the quality doesn’t drop much between Huijsen and Saliba. I rate Huijsen, the lad is top class, but come on, there’s an argument that Saliba is the best Cb in world football and not even in his peak years. We’d also break up the best CB pairing in world football.
We’d also be going into next season with a new CB pairing, new midfield pairing and a new CF. That’s far too much adjustment needed.

Saliba has been poor recently.

Saliba has been poor recently.
And? So that’s reason for selling him? He’s had a couple of bad games and made a few uncharacteristic errors, but considering the amount of games he’s played in the past 2 seasons I’m not worried about it.
He still one of, it not THE best CB in world football, trying to say Huijsen is close to his level is ****ing ludicrous.

The reason for selling him would be his contractual situation?

The Sesko stuff is a bit weird. Happy to sign him in January but now have reservations. The only explanation is Berta changing the thinking but why then make it seem like we have options at CF. If there's no chance with Isak and they've got cold feet on Sesko that leaves Gyökeres and who else? Ekitike?

Didnt wanna sign an attacker, in Jan, now reservations about one of the hottest prospects in europe, Sesko and Isak looking unlikely.

But we want to spend 90m euros on Zubi and Joan Garcia. WTF? Please man, just stop chatting ****. Us fans have known for years that we need a top striker and surprise surprise, it ends up costing us over and over.

The scenes when we end up signing Watkins after the idea was rejected in January - refused to pay £60m when we were desperate just to pay £50m a few months later.
The only reason most of the fanbase were so passive on us refusing to pay the asking price is because there were so much PR nonsense about us wanting Isak.

Don't think Berta will go for Watkins. The striker signing will be what he's remembered for/judged on and he will most likely go after someone he has been following for a while.

Personally I think Watkins is the one who ticks the most boxes - PL proven goal scorer, Arsenal fan, hard worker, etc. Only negative is his age.
Gyokeres, Sesko, Ekitike, all have big question marks about their quality.

Watkins just got his 16th league goal.

Seems a really sensible signing.

Anyway; any CF signing will need Mikels sign off.

Do you genuinely believe there wouldn’t be a gulf in quality selling Saliba and replacing him with Huijsen. Despite the potential Huijsen has?

Our defensive structure is why we are so good defensively, along with having top tier individuals.

There would be an initial adjustment period but with Gabriel still in the side it wouldn't be a huge drop off, you are underrating Huijsen imo.

Feels like Sesko disappeared as an option as soon as Edu was gone.

I’m not underrating Huijsen, the kids not elite potential. You, however, are underrating Saliba

Not underrating Saliba at all, just don't think everything collapses without him. Just like it hasn't collapsed without our best defender for the past 2 years, surely you can see that and think AHH, okay it's the structure and tactics.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
